hi Falken_KE30 very soon I'm about to pick up another car i bought which is a stock 3k 1967 ke10. i havent seen it running but the owner says it goes alright and i have no need for the engine, as I'm only after parts you might be interested in the engine but i have another member interested in it after I'm done with it, so that might complicate things if you are interested then i "might" be able to help you out with an complete 3k engine (condition unknown at current stage) cheers

agreed :y:

3/4 of the stuff done to it was done by my dad 30 years ago :y: and he sold it for $3000 back then which was a nice sum of money 30 years ago :P but when it was owned by my dad the thing was "immaculate"!!! It had everything done to it and it look so freakin awesome!!! And it was tuned so perfectly that it just took of like a rocket!! but my dad had a test drive of it about a year ago and it had a lot of things done to it that only a moron could do :P my dad sold it as a perfect race/road car but then somewhere down the track somebody decided it would be good to rip out all of the interior, put in a tacho which is nearly the same size as the steering wheel, and now the thing is a bitch to drive, because they f**ked around with the engine, and it used to a have a very rare LSD in it, but now it only has a welded diff
-
they quite suit the car :P all you need now is centre caps :y:

I did a bit of an investigation and I think the twin master cylinder is off a datsun 180 b
-
yeah they are bloody wide, and obviously, the car have guards screwed on, its a fully work 3k engine with twin 45DCOE webers, when my dad owned it it only had twin 40DCOE webers, and although 45's would give a little more hp, it would make the car cranky to drive I'll see if I can get some pics of it, it looks pretty tough on the outside but inside there is no interior, its just bare shell, roll cage, seat, gear knob, steering wheel and monster tacho, that's all he wants $6500 for it, but in my opinion thats a little too much and the wheels are definatly wider that 7's, I'm not exactly sure but they are "definately" wider than 7's, they could even be 9's, but could only be 8's, so i just rounded it up and said 8.5 :y:

my dad had hotwires on his old ke10, they looked damn good! its actually for sale now down here in tassie, its a light candy green colour and has white 14x8.5 golbe wheels on it, it looks alright, but it been too overdone in my opinion have the wheels you got on your car been painted or are they just un-polished?
-
Brad- Bonnet pins are fairly common and not hard to find, the only reason my car has bonnet pins is because cars arent allowed in club days without them KeTen- I'll find out what twin master cylinder I'm using and tell ya in this thread, and as soon as i get the pics I'll post them up in the "Lowering Ke10" thread cheers
-
those wheels look great!! :y:
-
try imageshack :y: me --> :P <-- imageshack :( I noticed the thread love Ke70 made has gone as well :) I made a very hearyfelt opinion in that thread :P
-
my thoughts exactly :y:

there's a dragway a few k's away from symmons plains raceway, they had a meeting there a couple of weeks ago and decent cars in tassie? yeah right :y: all the awesome cars in tassie arent allowed on the road, because the registery department are bastards, and they don't want to look bad in their stock as a rock mitsubishi magna's...

lots more to do yet :P at the moment its just general tidy up of the car, like polishing wheels, repairing rust, bodyfilling certain areas, repairing cracked dash, repairing 2 minor rips in the interior, brand new indicator lenses and parklights, replacing front bumper and diff, adjusting the springs, give the car a respray, give it 13x7 wheels, and just tidy the thing up until it's really neat :) Ive just got a kmph speedo in it, which is good :P once the car is fully restored then I'll start modifying the engine more, it'll get twin 40DCOE sidedraught weber carbies, it'll get a head and cam put in it which came from an open-wheeler formula 3, LSD, get the extractors coated with ceramic coating, re-furbish the engine, either paint or polish it, electronic dizzy, lightened flywheel... I can probably think of more but that'll do for now :y:
-
true... but I hate it when you give a car a nice body kit, cos when you go to put the license plate on the front you have to put it where a copper would like it but not to cut of 2/3 of your air intake... I spose for a matiz done up like that you'd have to screw it above the air intake, and have the plate bended to match the body, but it would still look iffy btw- who's intercooler boy?
-
envy me :P LOL hmm, go to the top of mount wellington and take a photo of your car and in the background you'll see hobart in the distance :y: would be better with alittle snow, but at the moment tasmania is experiencing 30-35 degree heat and itw worse in tassie, cos on the mainland you just sweat but in tassie when its this hot you just cook and go crispy :P
-
good luck getting over a speed hump! :y:
-
hey everyone I just got new batteries for my camera and what better way to celebrate than to take fresh pics of my ke10 and post them up here, so enjoy!! :P BRAND NEW PICS TAKEN TODAY!! :y: click the pics for the good size

when my dad drives up from south to north tassie every Friday night/morning its like a bloody dodge 'em course!! There are Tassie Devils, kangaroos, Bandicoots, Wombats, Possums, Echidna's, Quolls, Owls, wallaby's, even cow's sometimes!! But there's nothing a toyota van can't do with a few dodge 'em skills and bullbar :y:

they use to sell "Air guitars" on eBay, and people actually bought it :P they get sent a empty guitar case and inside is the urr, "air guitar" and you play it with your mind :P
-
7k's use the same engine mounts as well, go 1.8 litres :P

sorry can't remember what year 323 it was ;) maybe when I supply pics you can tell) but at the moment my camera's battery is dead and I don't know if I just charge it or get a new battery, cos I can't find any charger for it :hmm: And swaybars are good, but if you are just pottering around then you hardly notice the difference plus they tend to make the front of the car too stiff, ive disconnected my swaybar until I can get softer springs I'll try my best to my camera working and supply some pic :P I'll try and investigate which 323 model, and then if I find out or find out approx what year they are i'll post them up :P
