cuzzo Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 Check this thread out for the corona upgrade http://toymods.net/forums/showthread.php?t=13803 I have done this. The only thing needed to be done is to shorten the strut or go coil-overs which i did. Quote

Raven Posted December 5, 2006 Report Posted December 5, 2006 Shorten some RA60 celica front struts by 20mm, reweld the strut, put a 20mm spacer in the bottom of the strut tube, put AE92 short stroke struts in. Coil-over sleeve kit & spring rate of your choice costs around $280 delivered from T3 in the US of A. While you're at it, get some adjustable camber plates for $232 delivered from T3 as well. Quote
cuzzo Posted December 5, 2006 Report Posted December 5, 2006 (edited) Well i got the xt130 strut bare and sent it away to david lawson in adelaide. His email is : [email protected] Also his website is www.ajps.com.au he does alot of drifting setups but he will be able to help you. I then found some hilux calipers from toymods and got some new pugeot discs. then the brake place machined them down for me. Most brake places will do it, but they will also explain that there is no warranty one modified at all. With the coil over setup, I'm using 6kg springs. About the hardest you would want to go for street unless drifitng. you can also get 8kg and up to 12kg i think. If you ask david some questions he explains it alot better than me. The spring tops will only need to be custom if you get some adjustable camber tops and most will foul on the spring hat. Hope this helps. PS. I'm not sure how much this setup will stop( horsepower wise) So being a v8 I'm not sure if this will be good enough. You may need something bigger. I think this is good for arond 260kw atw. sleepercorty Posted December 5, 2006 Report Posted December 5, 2006 ive done xt130 struts they bolt in just need to modify spring and use corolla strut tops. don't know what u other guys mean by shortening strut mine are perfect length. i cut 2 coils off corona springs and car sits real low Quote
sleepercorty Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 i worked out why u guys shortened struts, i finally had a look at my car while it was on the ground and not on the jack, mine still has just enough shock travel but if i wanted to go lower it more would definately need to shorten shock. PROJECTROLLA Posted December 11, 2006 Author Report Posted December 11, 2006 thanks for the info cuzzo came in handy big time!! cheers mate!! Quote
MRMOPARMAN Posted December 14, 2006 Report Posted December 14, 2006 the pug hilux conversion is a bigger/more efficient front brake setup than most falcon/commode V8's. so it will stop something nearly 1/2 the weight with ease. ^apart from that.. what they said^ oh if your handy with a welder, coil over kits come up from time to time on ebay. can't find one atm Quote
Raven Posted December 14, 2006 Report Posted December 14, 2006 don't need ebay for a coil-over kit. T3 do 'em for around $280 delivered with your choice of spring rate. Quote

Raven Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 Techno Toy Tuning aka T3 They're in the US of A and are very helpful. Email them with the details on your strut size, what car you're putting them in and what you're using them for and they should be able to help you out. Quote
