Savage Posted July 28, 2004 Report Posted July 28, 2004 hey guys and gals, now I'm not quite sure if this is just a fantasy of mine but anyway, I'm looking for a stroker kit for a 4k-c engine. Does anyone have any idea on where i might get one from and for how much? I'm curiuos to see just what potential a little 4k has in there ;) anywho thanks all and i hope to hear from you soon later. :D Quote
Redwarf Posted July 28, 2004 Report Posted July 28, 2004 As far as I know, there is no such animal as a stroker kit for a 4K. Overbore is the way to go on that one. Jamie would know better than I. There's a reliable 120hp at the fly if you give it to someone who knows what they're doing. I've got that out of a 1359cc 3K. Be prepared to spend some dollars. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing properly. Quote
Super Jamie Posted July 28, 2004 Report Posted July 28, 2004 there is no such thing as a 4k stroker, i doubt you could fit a 7k crank in a 4k, why not just build a 7k. a 5k has a 4k crank, just bigger pistons www.superjamie.net/ke25 read about my engine. that's about the best cam you can get. doug has a similar engine, standard bore and unbalanced but his is a dished piston 4k-e and has a better port job, his would be more a bit powerful than mine i reckon with the right work, a reliable n/a motor can make 100hp/L, so that's about what you can expect Quote
demuire Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 Why would you bother when you can get a 4K that's already 1300cc? Rob had to stay with the 3K for rally regulations... Quote
irokin Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 I think you'll also find you'll be able to use charade forgies ;) Quote
Redwarf Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 Start with a 4K, it's much easier. There is I believe different blocks with different webbing though... ;) Quote
irokin Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 Start with a 4K, it's much easier. There is I believe different blocks with different webbing though... ;) correct. I don't remember the engine numbers...bht theyre out there somewhere Quote
Super Jamie Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 start with a ribbed 4k, a 3k has too short a stroke, and rob's is pretty much a 4k anyway, 4k is nice and torquey Quote
Super Jamie Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 for all of our pleasure! ;) perhaps it's one of those anime tentacle porn things Quote
Felix Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 ever heard of offset grinding cranks? you could get a 4k crank reground 40 thou under, offset 20 thou. would give you an extra 1 mm stroke. ie, your 73 mm stroke 4k crank would become a 74mm stroker crank. really not worth it. seeing as ke70s are so porky, if i was building a k engine for a ke70, i would start with a 5k. torque is what shifts you off the line quick. better still toss the k series and go 4ag. you will be a lot happier in the long run. even 4afe, i don't understand why more people don't use them. they are worth f@$k all and are way more commonplace than 4ags. they have a lot more torque. the one in peters ae82 really pulls hard, has more torque than any equivalent 4ag i've been in. not so much at the topend, but bang for buck there is no comparison. you can always add porting and reground cams for topend later. would be different. Super Jamie Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 4afe does not get you "toymods points", and you can't turbo/gze/20v it (well you can but try telling those idiots that) Quote
irokin Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 toymods is the most retarded place on the internet. why on earth would you want to impress those f@$kwits. Quote
