i don't think itst toyota, has no badges on it that i can see.

it drives around my suburb a bit, and lives here.

its a 2 door, with quad headlights simliar to the TA22 celicas, but i don't think its a celica?

RA40 Coupe... Has early doors, front bar and round quads (without bezels), but late guards, bonnet and parkers

Almost.

But with one major difference that set it apart from the typical run of the mill RA40's that ran the 1968cc 18R motor. This version ran a 1588cc twin cam, twin carb called the 2T-G.

the car in question had the model code TA40.

so this is a ta40 (awesome looking line over the back wheels (simliar to the TA22), and smaller rear quarter window, and 4 x round lights)

and this is a RA40?

(ugly as front end, boring rear quarter window, normal looking rear wheel arch)

Thats a RA24. Similar to the coke bottle TA22/RA23.

The bumpers are different.

The red one is a 20 series, the second one pictured is a late RA40.

I'm still wagering its an early RA40 with a late front clip, but retaining the early quad round lights. Hard to make out what grille/headlight bezels it has, but the headlight buckets and all the hanging panels are interchangeable between early/late. I actually did this myself many many moons ago.

is an RA24 with the full chrome bumper? (no plastic engine caps).

the original car also has full chrome rear bumper, no plastic end cap.

damn never realised there were so many variants.

WTB: RA24 with full chrome bumpers.

edit: read 7shades post....

hmmm could be a bitsa....

if so it takes all the good bits off all the cars, and puts it in one package...

quad lights, full chrome non "smile" (ta22) style bumpers.

come to think of it the quad lights do look set back a far way in the front end, sort like my old ke70 was with the hacked in quad lights.....

i know where it lives now, so ill drop past again this arvo for more photos :P
