HIGH ROLLER Posted October 11, 2007 Author Report Posted October 11, 2007 Yeah the 3.08 will be a little too highway, but after all the rest is done i'll probably go for a new centre... was thinkin 4.11? anyone got any ideas for a 4agte diff ratio? cheers Quote
Jono Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 i have a 4.33 but its not going to last very long and long highway trips really suck. i'm sure one day i'll have to upgrade to a supra box and decent diff when i can justify another few thousand dollars to the wife. i'll probably choose a different ratio then. maybe something around 3.9? cuzzo Posted October 14, 2007 Report Posted October 14, 2007 man if this thing gets engineered i'll... i'll ..... i'll eat my hat! i had a look at trying to get me ke30 engineered with a stock 4age in it not easy Fully engineered and regoed and insured ke30 4agte. :D easy as pie indeed. sr20 into ke30 not as easy but is possible. HIGH ROLLER Posted October 15, 2007 Author Report Posted October 15, 2007 Yeah shouldn't be too hard, engineering is the least of my worries, i still don't have a diff! haha Well the ke20 is on hold at the moment, My daily Daihatsu Charade needs a Clutch, Syncro & Starter... Also putting in a central locking kit to hook up 2 my alarm... i can't wait to be back spinning those front tyres! Quote
HIGH ROLLER Posted November 2, 2007 Author Report Posted November 2, 2007 UPDATE! it's been a while and i found a diff... After a long time searching for a hilux LSD at the right price, or finding a complete one at all, i have decided to go with an open-wheeler Hilux RWD with 4.1 ratio... The diff will then be shortened and locked...also get treated to a disk conversion... Picking up the diff tomoro, will post up pics... cheers, Marky Mark Quote

HIGH ROLLER Posted November 5, 2007 Author Report Posted November 5, 2007 (edited) OK everyone, DIff's were delivered to my house today at lunch, both are Hilux open-wheelers, one for my car, one for my mate's 323 (12a BP)... They'r in good nick and were still in cars at the wreckers with low K's... We're both going Locker (Not Welded) with the centres... And i'm going with a disk conversion, not sure about Adam... Here's some pics (they need a good hit with degreaser)...ENJOY! Edited November 5, 2007 by HIGH ROLLER Quote

Jason Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 wait i don't quite get how they work? Do you choose when to engage them? Or is it sorta like an LSD that acts as either open or locked? Quote
Jono Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 yeah it acts as either locked or open. my mate has one in his r31 turbo skyline, seems sweet. Quote
Jason Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 (edited) how predictable is it? i though maybe something like an air locker may be better for street to street racer Edited November 5, 2007 by Jason Quote
Jono Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 i haven't driven my mates car yet, so i'm not sure. he loves it and has driven on all sorts of lsds. certainly seems like nice controlled drifting. Quote
