I'm currently unsure of what I'm going to do with my KE70's suspension. I have "stock" springs in, but theyre either chopped, not actually stock, or badly badly sagging, because the car looks low and tough.

 

Would not like to put in king lows if they are higher than the car is now, because any higher wouldn't cut it, and I happen to have some king lows to suit KE70.

 

 

Anyone got a minute to measure the ride height of their stock KE70? please take into account stock wheels or not. If possible, as well as measuring from the road, please measure from the centre of your wheel to the wheel arch, as this will account for different wheels.... although it couldn't be that different could it...

i don't know one person ever who has had a ke70 and not lowered it as the first thing after they've gotten the car.

Dude i have a set of stock ke70 rear springs, but as soon as it got rego'd it dropped :evil: i can mesure the rear springs i have in the she dfor you, if that helps? They are the stock ones

also if you buy new springs and they bump up the hight you can alway cut them down a little to the correct hight. and don't give me bullshit about it being dodgy all you grandmas out there, springs are made to be cut :evil: if the springer are stiffer than standard then they are even better. From my experience with kings they arnt much stiffer than standard.

Engineer: "yeah mate these are made to be chopped we're even thinking of just having one spring design and selling it off with little dotted lines because theyre MADE to be chopped. They're also really hard so they're perfect in every way. We don't even need to test them, because I did it to a corolla once and it drifted great in the wet. Hell why did I even bother doing a mechanical engineering degree, this stuff is so obvious and simple. Its just a spring, I mean its not like it bears the load of a tonne of f*cking steel hurtling down a wet bitumen road at above 100km/h. Lets not bother looking too deeply into it, she'll be right mate, looks tuff tho ay"

 

Head Engineer: "Yeah mate, no worries."

Seriously, cut standards are fine in the rear, just use short shocks which captivate them. But don't skimp on the front end. Thats where the magic happens. Stiffness isnt everything, not in the rear anyhow, but it depends if you want grip or not really. I do not think the kings you can buy at the moment are very low at all. They quoted me a ride height over the phone and it was exactly the same as i had with the standards. If your kings are old ones they could probly sit at a better height.

why not just swap the rears over and see if its higher or lower. to swap the rears is under an hours work...
