hmm a mid engine car will kill at kanas drags n track meets becasue u can get traction and don't get as much understeer if u drive it right and hav the right setup (i don't yet)

I do like the feel of a front wheel drive over a rear wheel drive, I am yet to drive an mr or awd. I find that its alot easier to control a FWD but as soon as a FWD starts to spin you can't do anything about it as apposed to a RWD.

You can do as much to correct a spin in a FWD as you can in a RWD. When the tail steps out too far in a FWD, you can floor the accelerator to try and induce understeer to correct the oversteer, as well as using opposite lock in more extreme circumstances. In a RWD you can try and use the throttle and steering to maintain and correct a slide, aka drifting. Of course, once a car is in a spin, all you can do is brake and hope you stop without hitting anything.

AWD stability FTW!!! Plus the high kerb weight to keep the car stuck to the road. :cool:

in a mid engine car all u can do is hammer the brakes and pray like crazy u don't end up reversed into a big ass pole / fence, or if u hav skill power out/ over and hope u end up sumwere

lol this is what happened.

 

4defctn or wateva AKA faggy boi rice box pulls a little burn out

 

xxl or aka turbo excel pulls a burn out from the exit near the fishing shop turning right up to the lights, wheels go spin :cool: then front end of car goes left SNAP curb. /poo pants.

 

Also with FWD can't you also just gently apply brakes to try help straighten up?

P.S He also tried dragging me last week lol, I took off normally, he span wheels loud ass backfire from his car almost caused my girlfriend to jump out of my car lol. Didnt seem that quick.

n e who i gave daniel abit of a squirt on friday as well as the excel and i kept up with both it was just off a set of lights and i recon i would of been in front of the excel but i was stuck behind daniel spinning off the line, daniel did say he was only half throttle but who is eva half thottle. so the excel is quicker now what has he done????

 

and the sprinter is awsome but can't get traction

I was within an inch of pooing myself when he took me for a drive in it. No speedo lol. Was probably quickest car I have been in or at least felt like it. Acceleration is awesome.

:cool: He's already hit the curb at least once before pretty damned hard and f@$ked his suspension up really bad.

 

He also used to have an Integra that he wrote off down at TDZ a few years back apparently.

No. Applying the brakes will correct understeer, where the front end is running wide. If the back end is loose on a FWD car, then if you apply the brakes you're more likely to get the back end flicking around on you. Hitting the accelerator hard will cause weight transfer to the rear, loading the suspension up and generally giving the rear more grip. In a really bad situation it could just take grip from the front, giving grip on no wheels. :P

He's got a stupid friggin' launch control setup. He's a dick, and because he apparently sells stolen goods, he's got a fair bit of money to spend on making his shit heap go fast and repairing it when he f@$ks it up.

He must be running anti-lag(generates boost on idle) Daniel just set it up on the sprinter the day he took me for a drive. Only thing its good for is f@$king the turbo.

 

And shane you would shit all over the excel, I reckon my car would JUST be beaten by it. anyone know what its run down the 1/4?

 

I have also heard that he deals in that sought of thing.

well it is deff quicker than last time i saw him (was running like 3psi boost and always hitting the limiter set at like 3000rpm or sum shit so he is deff running higher boost ect.

 

the only prob i seem to hav with my car is i can't get a good top speed i can accl so much quicker than most cars but the top speed is just not there well it is just not quick enough to get to

what to do about my gearbox it crunches 3rd on a hard upshift and now 4th aswell it alreadi has redline gearbox oil but i think it may hav leaked out, whats it cost to get it rebuilt and is it worth it??? I'm not goin 2 do anything for a while coz i don't do that much hard shifting
