hmm.. kinda hard to explain

its like a big weight on a shaft with a hook on the end of the shaft and a stub on the other end,

all you do is throw the weight towards yourself (the stub end) and it causes a fair bit of impact

hence gettin the ding out!

just go down to repco or bunnings or supercheap and they should be able to help you out

hope that helps lol

Got any ideas on how to get this out???????

can you not get a pair of pliers and just bend it back down (assuming its just the little strip has been squashed flat from jacking in the incorrect place?)

For the lip of the seam: multi grip pliers, hammer and dolly, and also a strip of steel clamped to the back to bash against to get it dead straight.

For the creases, weld small squares of thin plate with a hole drilled in them and pull out with a slide hammer with a hook attachment then cut and grind off. This is for those who can't afford those fancy stingers that weld rods to the panel.

The sheet metal will be under tension. That means that you will have high spots that cannot be flattened out and you will be playing whack a mole. Find the high spots using a file, direct a propane, butane, map, or oxy flame at the high point to you can see the grain structure of the metal expand (it turns blue), tap it with a wooden mallet or a waffled face shrinking hammer (if you can afford their ridiculous prices). This is to "shock" the sheet metal into contracting, your not "punching" it in so to speak. Then quickly quench it with a wet rag (i like to put ice in with the water that I dip the rag in).

He's not talking about the jack point. The sill has been dragged along something that has pushed it in, you can see a couple of scrapes there.

Whoops - didn't see them :D
