KE30_KE35_KE55 Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 Excellent work , This car is looking great, the air box is a great job. what paint is that transmission painted with?. Quote
greenmac80 Posted February 26, 2009 Author Report Posted February 26, 2009 Jip! yeah mate engine bay is getting painted phantom black with a custom pearl. ecu will be behind x member as ryan said. Raven: yeah it was a possibility but where the wires are coming into the car it was easier to mount there. Mr AE71: hmmm this car will not be carrying more than one passenger at a time very often at all. also i'm probably going to be making a cover for it that way if kicked it won't matter. when my car was going before i hardly ever had passengers. also being right behind that x member it hangs over the footwell only slightly. so i doubt that peoples feet will even get to it anyways. KE30_KE35_KE55: it was painted with Jotun full gloss high temp 2 pack! thanks guys for the airbox compliments. i have finished it but.... i'm not happy! its waaaay to heavy! 3.8kg! i've also found out you can mig ali with the right wire and sheild! turns out we have the sheild at work. my gf's dad has enough ali for me. so all i need to do is source the wire! so a new one will be made soon i hope! this one will be a tester! oh what a nissan feeling! Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 i've also found out you can mig ali with the right wire and sheild! turns out we have the sheild at work.my gf's dad has enough ali for me. so all i need to do is source the wire! so a new one will be made soon i hope! this one will be a tester! Hey mate, just in case youre unaware, you need a very high powered welder to weld alloy nicely, eg 3 phase. It also helps very much to have a wire feed in your hand piece, as the alloy wire prefers to be pulled rather than pushed. Cheers Quote
