TRD ke70 Posted December 21, 2007 Report Posted December 21, 2007 here's a couple of photos that show why Toyota went to a 42mm big end journal in the 100 kw engine. this engine has only 160,000 km's on it and it wasn't driven hard? Quote

Des Posted December 21, 2007 Report Posted December 21, 2007 Aah, I thought mr2's all had the bigger cranks.. No, Might be a 7 rib block but small internals, That 4age i had with the holes in the pistons was a 7rib block with small internals and no oil squirter's. Quote
Medicine_Man Posted December 21, 2007 Report Posted December 21, 2007 I was under the impression all 7 rib blocks had the big crank, oil squirters or not.. Quote
TRD ke70 Posted December 21, 2007 Author Report Posted December 21, 2007 (edited) it's a very early MR2, this one was made in 1984. and it's an auto. call around and see Tony sometime, he'll tell you all about it. Edited December 21, 2007 by TRD ke70 Quote

Trev Posted December 21, 2007 Report Posted December 21, 2007 It doesnt look like its been oiled to well. Quote
ae174agze Posted December 21, 2007 Report Posted December 21, 2007 (edited) yeah i'd say no oil / low / shit oil but omg that some serious dammage Edited December 21, 2007 by ae174agze Quote
trd Posted December 22, 2007 Report Posted December 22, 2007 if it had a oil problem it would have run a bearing not snaped the crank. the oil level was full, pressure was oil & it had not long ago had a oil change. i think the crank had fault in it. all the other bearings look overrated except for the middle main which supplys that big end bearing, it looked like it had run low on oil, but still wasn't bad.
