Hi all,

I have a Hilux (old model 5 stud) diff for my ke20...

it is getting cut down soon & i wanted to know if anyone knows/have dealt with a workshop in Sydney area that can supply a Disk brake kit, to convert from drummies.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i don't know of any kits but people use custom r13 set-ups.

yeah, i've heard of that...probably the path i'll take.

Craft Differentials makes a bracket kit for it, but i was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on other shops that do it, or if people have a set that they can copy....

I have used ea, eb falcon stuff on a few diffs,

 

real easy to use, as the factory bracket can fit easy in most cases,

 

and the handbrake works off the caliper instead of an inner drum, so less weight, and mucking around. ;)

Hi mate i used the bracket supplied by craft differentials in sydney it cost me $120 for the 2, then all you need to do is machine down the end of the axle so the R31 rotor once you have drilled it out to five stud ,can then fit over the centre section that supports the middle of the brake rotor. If you get all your parts you'll see what you have to do. Also don't forget about hand Brake cables which need to be taken to a cable place that can modify your corolla ones with R31 ends to suit the caliper. These need to be measured properly as if you get it wrong they wont work properly. I'd get cable guy to measure them for you. ;) Hope this Helps

Hi mate, ill get the details for you later as I'm at work and don't have their card . Its located across the road to the RTA at liverpool in sydney.

theres a big thread on toymods.net atm, people are doing group buys on some custom caliper brakets, then you slightly mod the backing plates of an MZ20/MA70 and use the discs and calipers off em aswell. gives ya large diameter vented discs and internal drum handbrake. good calipers too.
