kes.16v Posted February 3, 2008 Author Report Posted February 3, 2008 it is a nightmare trying to put stuff together when i don't have a clue what goes where... Quote
Taz_Rx Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 There's a couple of self tappers that are nearly impossible to get to. With that dash of mine you wanted I actually purposely broke part of the plastic dash, to get the dash top out in the condition it was in. However it would not be essential to put all of these self tappers back in. There's a metal "sheft" just below the dash top that it bolts to. Use all of these and the 2 horizontal ones in the ends and that'll do. :jamie: Quote
kes.16v Posted February 3, 2008 Author Report Posted February 3, 2008 cool lol, the WHOLE dash is out now including tacho and all that, i need some help with all that wiring when it comes to putting it back together.... AHHHH Quote
Taz_Rx Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 Is all of the wiring loom out too!!? Quote
kes.16v Posted February 4, 2008 Author Report Posted February 4, 2008 from the speedo it is, and there is a few loose wires that werent connected to anything that i don't know where they go..... but the loom is still in place... Quote
MRMOPARMAN Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 what id be doing, is going to your local self serve wreckers, finding the same model as yours, and strip that dash for all its nuts and bolts. take pictures as you go just in case you forget, then you will have all the bolts/nuts/screws you need, and know exactly where they go Quote
Hiro Protagonist Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 I swapped out the dashpad in the KE55 on the weekend, was helped by the fact that I could just look at the spare and see where all the nuts were. Still, that didn't help in getting the screw out from BEHIND the left passenger air vent, which requires a screwdriver the length of your average finger (including the handle), and hands to match. I had the screwdriver (I call it Stumpy), but my hands are the size of hams. Took a while, fortunately didn't draw any blood but took a lot of time and sweat. Looks sweat now (no cracks in the pad whatsover, so no need for the dash mat anymore) Quote
