tolisspi Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 You have done very good work to your car Quote
roladude Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 That is true you have done superbly  and all within a budget to i would say now I'm sure you are saving hard to get it painted what colour you going to go. Please keep it in the family. :P Quote
Kid-Ae Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 The paintwork isn't too bad. Though you WILL need to re-paint those bumpers mate, as the plastics are waring out a little. Â :P Quote
Johno Posted July 12, 2008 Author Report Posted July 12, 2008 Thanks for all the comment's :P Â I'm still unsure on what color to paint it yet, I'm thinking about just painting it the original color coz it's a huge pain in the ass to paint the engine bay and all the internals. The paint isn't too bad but it is very faded and rusting in some spots like a couple of spots on the roof, bonnet in about 3 spots and a Lil bit on the rear wheel arch. Â I wont be doing any painting until the weather gets warmer. The temp up here in the hills is about max 8c everyday and i don't have a shed  Â When i do finally paint it I will paint the window surrounds black and have color coded bumpers. Quote
roladude Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 like was mentioned on another project go to the wreckers and but colour coded bumpers. it would be more cheaper and then you would be more happy to wait for the summer to come :P Quote

Honestly dude, painting the engine bay is very easy in ae82's ;) Once the engine, carbon canister and loom is out of the way, all that is left to do is mask up the master cylinder + brake lines (just pull them outward from the firewall and a few other bits and pieces!!! Defiantely worth the effort... and 4ac's are easy as to pull out :D  Oh yeah, I have a few ae82 interior parts you may be interested in too dude! I found them while I was cleaning out one of my cupboards trying to find a part!!! Ill get some pics for you (things like covered b-pillar plastics etc... that I don't need anymore)  Cheers, Moe Quote

Kid-Ae Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 Hurry up and strap on a turbo, crank the boost and blast the living smeghole out of her  then you have a reason for a conversion when she dies :( Quote
Johno Posted July 14, 2008 Author Report Posted July 14, 2008 I don't think i need a turbo with the way i drive this thing. It will blow it self up in due time... lol Then the conversion... (maybe) Quote
Kid-Ae Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 4ac's don't die man.. unless you give them a HEAP of stick. If you drive it the way you did when i was in it then it may decide to pop. Â Simple conversion - Your Falcon engine :( Quote
Johno Posted July 14, 2008 Author Report Posted July 14, 2008 (edited) I don't normaly rev it as high as what i did when you were in the car, that was kinda an accident :( Â *EDIT* but i still give it a fair bit. :( Edited July 14, 2008 by Johno Quote
xstatic Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 sometimes when i get a lead foot i try and give her some but she still won't go very fast :( :(  the joys of corollas hey  scott Quote
Johno Posted July 15, 2008 Author Report Posted July 15, 2008 (edited) Tires are getting really bad.. Â Done a little work on the rolla this afternoon. My pethetic attempt to roll the gaurds... Lucky i never got a flat tire because my wheelbrace doen't fit with my mag wheels. :( So i couldn't take the wheels off. :) Â Â I used a hammer, block of wood, a rag, vice grips, angle grinder, file and socket set. Â Started off just with hammer and vice grips and dented my pannels. :hmm: Â Then used the rag but that didnt help much. Block of wood worked wonders Cut the bumper with angle grinder and some of the metal underneth. Â Fixed up the dents with car bog. Â Just done one gaurd for now coz it got dark i'll do the other one another day. Edited July 15, 2008 by Johno Quote
Kid-Ae Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 hmm.. different, but i spose it is needed Quote
