Insane Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 We call it the sexmachine because no girl could possibly resist anyone that drove tis car... Here she is the way I bought her, Oh my god, Check out the sexyness!!!! After I calmed down from bying this sweet ride, after all my only other car was a 300zx painted lambo orange. how could it compete!!?? I did a few basic mods, mp3 player, some 15"silvia rims polished chrome, removed pinstriping, and a few things to actually make it useable like a functioning carbie (thanks trev), a rust free fuel tank and a non perferated radiator. Oh and a full lock kit so I could acces my boot and fuel cap! pretty cool huh... This is what it looked like after that, Recently my boss backed into the front left gaurd... Smashed it so hard we had to flog it with large lums of steel just to get the bonet to open. I decided it was time to fix her looks properly.... This is how i spent my christmas break. Replaced gaurd and did some basic bog work, Sanded it back, painded it with putty undercoat, and after some sanding, painted it white. This is what it looked like finished. All sprayed it 2pac white. I have some metalic red and some clear to do the spirit stripe with too. That's for another weekend though. A while ago I bought a smallport 16v to go in... I reversed the manifold than changed my mind and decided to go carbie... That's as far as I got with that... Since then I have installed central locking and a fusion car alam... Keyles entry is so cool... I also installed a sub woofer(just a little cheapie) and got the aircon repaired! I'm also in the process of instaling levin brakes onto the front. This is a sore point now cos the day I was informed that the remaining parts needed were in the mail was also the same day I needed them. Here's what a corolla looks like after ploughing fair up the arse of a forester with a towbar... Quote
Budowski Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 almost brings tears to my eyes after looking at the 1st few pics, getting it fixed ? left rail ok ? Quote
Golberg Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 Damn! that was looking sweet, real shame about the damage. You aren't by any chance the guy I swapped my stock manifold with for the cut-n-shut one are you? Through AE86DC. Quote
Insane Posted May 4, 2008 Author Report Posted May 4, 2008 yep yep, that was me... I am fixing it though. I'll have pics soon. hopefully have it on road within the week Quote
Trev Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 Well Trav its not as bad as i thought it would look, Are you driving the 300 in the mean time? Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 Mate, Ive seen this car Ipswich motorway maybe 8 months ago, I overtook you in my red 71 and tooted. Itll be back better than ever I hope. Ive got some gaurds if you need em, really cheap. Quote
Insane Posted May 4, 2008 Author Report Posted May 4, 2008 (edited) Would have had the sexy blue bonet back then too. Proably wasn't me driving though. I didn't have a liscence back then. Would have been my brother or girlfriend... I crashed it on thursday, ordered and picked up new aftermarket gaurds, headlight, indicator, and apron on friday... Yesterday I removed all the broken bits, bashed out the radiator support and other bits to what is now amazingly straight all things concidered. I also installed the gaurds, apron and lights. Today I picked up a grille, bonnet, and front bumper from Love_KE70. They are now on and all looks straight. All I need now is a radiator. Either a cheap second hand one to get me through or I might try and find a new one. Fingers crossed, I'll be driving it tomorrow!! Edited May 4, 2008 by Insane Quote
Insane Posted May 12, 2008 Author Report Posted May 12, 2008 It took me 3 days to end up with this... It's now straighter than it ever was but I still need to paint it... maybe next long weekend... Less than a week after I crashed her I receved nearly all the parts for my brake upgrade. (perfect timing as usual) Which has since turned out to be a suspension upgrade.. (I had to switch to sprinter struts to fit the import tureno brakes) Parts already aquired... Sloted and vented tureno front rotors Tureno calipers sprinter struts sprinter hubs with longer studs Tokio shocks Adjustable Cusco strut tops wheel bearings Power steering arms for more steering lock! If i do the springs at the same time the front struts will be complete... Quote
Insane Posted May 29, 2008 Author Report Posted May 29, 2008 (edited) OK... Update time. Diff was getting verry loud... So I bought a RA40 diff and did the conversion. I ended up using the celica springs, welded on swaybar mounts, JDM sprinter driveshaft and modified my own panard rod to center the diff. Drove well for around 200k, then BANG! That was followed by lots of crunching and grinding. It seems the center had a massive failure. So.. I chased after a 4.1 center and it eluded me. So i chased after a 4.1 factory JDM LSD and it eluded me... Only to now end up with a cusco LSD on it's way to me as we speak on a courier truck. If that dosen't fix it I give up. I have also installed an electric fuel pump and blocked off the hole in the head of the 4ac. It's nearly ready for my twincab twinkey to go in!!! Edited May 29, 2008 by Insane Quote

Insane Posted May 29, 2008 Author Report Posted May 29, 2008 My little sex machine is gonna have so many pedal credits.... I'll zoom past you like you are on a pushbike... Lay off the booze... You know me... When has that ever happened? Quote
Insane Posted September 16, 2008 Author Report Posted September 16, 2008 Update time... Diff center turned up and was covered in rust and crap... So I took it to the diff specialists and had it rebuilt. So Now I run a mega tight TRD LSD with 4.3's... Finally collected all I needed to do the front end conversion. Had the calipers rebuilt and everything. So now I'm running low springs all round, Tokio fron shocks, JDM front brakes with slotted rotars and celica drums on the back... I have also started my twincam conversion. I used the original V belt system converted onto the small port... Delorto twincarbs are my weapon of chice at the moment... This is as far as I have gotten... Quote
Trev Posted September 16, 2008 Report Posted September 16, 2008 The engine conversion looks very tidy up close and personal almost to the point that it is meant to be there from factory and the v belt system that Travis made for it is a real treat. Quote
Insane Posted January 14, 2009 Author Report Posted January 14, 2009 Conversion is done and running smooth. Very quick.... No power down the bottom end though. I think it's because the exaust isn't restricted enough. it only has one lukey muffler on it at the moment and it's also as noisy as hell. I am thinking I'll put a cat and a resonator on it and see where that get's me. maybe a dyno after that. The dizzy is controlled by an ignition computer called a hyperpak, available fron NZ for around $300. Same computer trev is using incidentally. Mega easy to wire up really recomed it. pics of it now Quote
