What Brightened my day yesterday..

 

Toymods dyno day, AE102 gets 71.7kw (slightly up from last time), AE82 (which I didn't want to beat the 102 but I wanted it to get close) gets 70.8kw.....less than a kw between them. That made me very happy.

 

The sun made me very red though...

Having given some parts to someone before Christmas, and then proptly forgotten about it, he turned up on my doorstep yesterday with beer.

For a 20 odd year old car that came out with 1 kw more than the 102 to only be beaten by just under a kw is pretty good.

7-rib bigport with a mild cat-back, compared to a 7A with extractors, full exhaust and CAI. The thing to realise though is that the 7A has now done over 300,000km on a completely un-opened engine, no idea on the history of the bigport though (it's probably at least the 3rd engine the 82 has had, none of them done by me)

 

And there's more potential in the 82 if you look at the dyno graph and the AFRs. What surprised me is how well it went considering how rough it feels to drive at times.
