Taz_Rx Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 yep, basically just a matter of blocking up all the vacuum lines and making sure the gaskets aren't gunna leak!
roids70 Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 do you know the best place that would do a gasket rebuild to in a weeber to suit boost? how do you sealy up the vacume holes if they are little pipes?
Robert Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 do you know the best place that would do a gasket rebuild to in a weeber to suit boost?how do you sealy up the vacume holes if they are little pipes? use screws, i don't know if they will seal with boost though???
roids70 Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 nah don't like the idea of screws! makes it look dodge
Robert Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 I think you can buy hoses with one end blocked off that don't look dodge.
Taz_Rx Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 gaskets - if they're in pretty good nick already you could just use a little bit of goop on them to make sure. if they're pretty had it then you can buy new ones at either a carby shop or off ebay. :) with the vacumm lines, put the screws in a bit of vacuum hose, if you want it to look good, just use enough vacumm hose to put the blocked end somewhere you can't see it. or, go to a diesel fitters, theres one round the corner from my place in garfield. they have lots of little plactic caps that come on all the fittings of diesel pumps etc that they will give you for free and you could find one that'll push on easily and seal her up. :)
roids70 Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 oh well all i guess i can do is try it first and if it does a gasket well i'll just go back to normal carb without the turbo on it till get it fixed
roids70 Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 (edited) simon do you know were abouts i can get parts like these here in launnie Cheers Sean Edited August 28, 2006 by roids70
Taz_Rx Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 the oil banjo fittings and right angle fitting you can get from ENZED, maybe $20 for the lot. don't know about the bit on the far left though, what is it for the oil return or something??
Falken_KE30 Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 hmmm waiting on reply from DYNO355 i think it is, and then i should be one step closer to efi, and then turbo..woot woot!
roids70 Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 well i got the turbo and i got the efi coming so I'm all good, yeh it is an oil return
Taz_Rx Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 come to think of it, it probably wouldn't be all that hard to make one!!! just make up a template with cardboard for the "bolt on" bit, get another fitting from enzed with a barbed end and a thread end, tap out the bolt on bit and screw in the fitting. :D
irokin Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 If its a Garrett turbo just get one off a slightly larger garrett turbo. I'm pretty sure the GT17 would use the same fittings as a T25/28 (they certainly look the same size). Grab the oil drain off a Silvia/180SX T25.
Robert Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 Hi, i might be getting a turbo off a mazda 323 4wd, can anyone tell me if its suitable for drawthrough? its the same turbo used on ford capris and tx3/5s Cheers, Rob
