The ticketing system can also be easily expanded to issue citations for loud subwoofers, noisy exhausts, or even an inopportune honk of the horn.

What a joke. We should be able to play our music as loud as we want, with an exhaust volume within reason, and beep whenever and at whoever we see fit.

as the report states here in SA they wanted to use it for trucks using their air brakes in suburban areas, plus i agree with the statement that "The ticketing system can also be easily expanded to issue citations for loud subwoofers, noisy exhausts, or even an inopportune honk of the horn." But i think that it will be used in the wrong context as per usual.

so looks like Big Brother, is another thing we can add to our "in life you can expect lists" which all ready includes death and taxes :laff:

CRAZY!

I don't understand how it could be illegal for trucks to use engine brakes, if they use them, its probably for a good reason. Yes they are noisy but the do stop the truck, instead of it plowing into a group of kids, or the back of your car.

If I were to see one of these i would get an air horn and stand behind it wile my mate moons the camera.

As for the other things like a car horn GET A LIFE YOU TWATS! :( :laff:

Just my 2c :lolcry:

they can stop without using the air brakes just takes longer, and its only illegal to use them in built up suburban areas

A 'predetermined noise threshold'? I wonder if this is actually going to be the legal noise limit or one they pluck from the sky?

Isn't the government receiving enough money from other pocket pinching revenue raising tactics?

Is it just me or does it feel like we have one of the most over-governed roads and ridiculous rules?

At what point do we realize that these cameras will disappear really fast once people start vandalising them.

They've tried the cameras everywhere thing in many countries before. Once you destroy 10 or so cameras worth around 30k each they seem to give up. Why do you think they removed the tidal flow system from coronation drive? Maintenance costs. Push up the maintenace cost and they will abandon the system.

One man with a silenced 22 could be a hero and end this madness for everyone.

while i'm all for pissing these things off (if they do end up being used) i was thinking more along the lines of having someone set up behind the camera and use their horn as someone drives thru. the camera will record them and then issue a fine.

if the horn doesn't work, just pull your exhaust off and rev the car so it triggers the camera.
