Bought this off a retiree a couple of weeks ago. He bought it in 1990 and has babied it since then. When we found it, the van had been sitting in the garage for months. Came with thousands of dollars in maintenance receipts. Poor guy got ripped off bad by his mechanic.

 

Initial plans are to fit quad headlights and subsequent front guards, wheels, flare the guards, tint windows, new windscreen, straighten bumpers a bit and add some fixed back seats.

I can't believe it either. Apparently heaps of people called about it but nobody turned up. We were so excited when we saw it that we hardly negotiated on the price because we felt bad for ripping off a pensioner. Lol. I like the windows but want different seals around them.

Does anyone know what width 15 inch rim we can fit with the stock guards? Will 7.5 inch fit or is that still too wide? That's about as narrow as we want em, otherwise we have to live with less dish. :yes: Pretty keen to do reversible mods in order to keep it as original as possible though. All the stockie parts will be carefully stored in the shed.

just roll that lip on on the inside of the gaurd and you will be fine with the right offset. Try a +20 to +10 wheel and you will have room to spare

The amount of dish a wheel has depends on the offset of the wheels. A 8.5" wide wheel with an offset of -10mm will have the same dish as a 4.5" wheel with an offset of -67mm for example (if you can even find it in those specs). It's just easier to find dish on wider wheels because as you go wider, the offsets also goes wider (lower).

 

If the panel van guards are the same as the sedan guards, I would recommend 15x7 +5 offset up front and 15x7.5 -5 out back or somewhere around there. Depending on the ride height, only a roll of the guards is needed. If you want 7.5" minimum then a offset of +12mm will sit the same as the 7" +5 for the fronts.
