Did Austraila Market These Cars?

Featured Replies

Yikes! That is one of a kind.

NEVER EVER EVER EVER heard or seen one of these cars before.

All the best with the sale though dude:thumbsup:

No, Australia never got the AMC Gremlin. AMC did sell cars here for a while (can't remember exactly when) but I'm pretty sure they'd pulled out WELL before the Gremlin's time. Did they really come with a 6-cylinder motor? I always thought looked like they had about 1300cc.

And to all you who claim never to have seen a Gremlin before, REWATCH WAYNE'S WORLD!!! It's what Garth drives, and in Wayne's World II Aerosmith turn up in a stretch limo version!!! I can't believe mikeys_toy even has the right colour vehicle. I WANT ONE!!!

SON OF A BITCH!!! I just did a Google search and found out about the 5.0L version. Those cars look smaller than an LC/LJ Torana (think of a 60/70's Ford Capri any of you non-Aussies) but have a 150hp 304ci V8!!! Bugger that'd be scary fast for such a small car with 70's brakes!

the wayne's world one was a pacer....fishbowl on wheels

these came with either a 3.8 or a 4.2....mine has the 4.2-6

they had the 304 V-8 option, but those are rare....this car is about the size of a mid '80's mustang

chevy vega is another similar car that we never got here. not to mention kp61 starlet

in fact, with the exception of the mazda 323, i think all our hatches have been lame fwd offerings
