Tiger Posted April 25, 2006 Report Posted April 25, 2006 13 seconds.. thats a second quicker than out of a VL Commodore... which is how many kilos heavier than a rolla? Â I'm with Geoff on that one.. was it built with Bill Gates influence? (Ultra rich) :lmao: Quote
Dan Posted April 25, 2006 Report Posted April 25, 2006 stocky little rims and diff:) I reckon that would sort of even it out, don't you think? The difference in gearbox and diff ratios, size of the tyres and the width of the tyres probably is the reason it didnt go as hard as you people would expect. Try again with fatties and a lower ratio diff :lmao: Quote
untubbed_20 Posted April 28, 2006 Report Posted April 28, 2006 (edited) Ummm, the people who say 13.0 at 108mph, need to know about drag racing. This is a vl turbo motor for a start, they do 15.5 in a commordore, not 14's as stated, secondly you look at the mph, 108 mph trap speed indicates even with half decent traction the car would run 12.5 easy as. Â The car was a total heap of shit, banged in there, it would have cost $100 to fit it in there, and the motor came out of his commordore as he put a killer stroker 308 in it, which has run 10.9's last time i heard. Â My ke10 only ran 13.3 at 108mph with a turbo 5K on little stocky rims, the mph is low because the exhaust manifold was hanging of, leaving no boost in 3rd, the car would have trapped 113-114mph with it fixed as with even less power it would keep up with car trapping 111mph easily. Â From a race at anyhting above 20km an hour, the 1/4 mile time means nothing the car with the highest mph will always win:) cheers darren Edited April 28, 2006 by untubbed_20 Quote
51ckn Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 this thread was a great read, answered a few questions i had as well, we currently in the first stages of putting a 253 in a KE20, getting done by Wilson brothers racing, the car is getting built for a burnout comp car, ill keep use up to date in our progress :) Quote

But if it was easy for him to do, and he is having fun with it...good on him Quote
untubbed_20 Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 (edited) You don't offend me, i am trying to teach you, 1/4 mile time doesn't having anything to do with how fast a car is when you ride in it, mph does.  A wrx would not get near this thing, i Know....i had one which i modified from a stocker to a full blown Gt30/microtech..all the bullshit, over 400hp  when does a stock wrx run low 13's?????? the 99 and below struggle with a low 14 at high 90mph at best, and the ugly shaped newer ones struggle to run mid to high 14's, our stock 3.5L magna had not trouble keeping up with them.... it ran 14.6 at 96mph!  The diffenerence between low 13's and low 14's is absolutly massive!!!, let alone the 9+mph trap speed difference (6 car lenghts), you would have to spend $10,000 on a wrx to do that...trust me..been there..done that 10 grand on the ke20(which trust me is not alot of money to spend on a driveline) would be into the 9's...that's why you bother! cheers darren Edited May 23, 2006 by untubbed_20 Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 Fair enough. I obviously have no idea about it then. Sorry to comment. Quote
untubbed_20 Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 ha,ha, is cool, not being a wanker, just trying to explain, i know it is all hard to understand, i knew not much about drag racing at some point in time aswell, we all have to start somewhere cheers darren Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 It's all good. I appreciate the knowledge. Â You can never learn anything unless you ask. Quote
Hokey Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 Madtoy: what car have you got a 308 in? KE30 or KE70? what did you have to do to get it in there? just engine mounts, gearbox mounts and custom tailshaft? firewall mods at all? i read in another thread you said it could be done for around a grand. Cheers, calvin :lmao: Quote
