kinda just sold it last time, not really sure why and i regretted it ever since so i am heaps happy to have it back. car was fine, only thing was it had a warped head, so i drove it from the sellers house to my mates which was bout 15min up the road. radiator ended up whistling like a boiling kettle and the car wouldnt start anymore :( and thats the story of the shitty 3k.

 

4k is in and almost done, just need to sort out the emissions crap and vac lines that are all over it. that should be done tonight and i hope i get to drive it tonight.

 

got some goodies for it, lil visor for the front and Venetians on the rear. going to drop it 2inchs, need to get the whitewalls done again. going to give the interior a good clean up, i wanna find some mega comfy seats for the front. this car is purely to cruise in :wink:

As for the 3K dying, when I bought it from Ali, the radiator was pretty old and useless. It did overheat a few times before I chucked in a KE70 rad. It seemed fine after that. My guess is she has had more of a thrashing since then and the poor old 3K gave up lol

 

Have to go for a KE20 cruise when I buy one for daily duties

when i replaced the fuel line with my own i musta f@$ked around something in the carby because the spring was gone that controlled the float. so the carby was getting filled with petrol every time i tried to start and had no hope of firing. i replaced the carby with some crappy looking one i picked up from the wreckers and it now runs. looking at getting a better one as this one looks very haggard.

 

things to do now;

 

dad reckons i may need a new waterpump as coolant leak from there pretty steadily.

need to get the exhaust fixed as its running from straight behind the cat.

venitians in.

visor on.

clean.

think you have to take the head off to change the water pump.

 

Should clean it up, give it a full service, new everything so you have piece of mind everything's done.

 

current 4K look to be in good condition?

don't stress, it is not nessasary to remove the head to replace the waterpump.

its an easy job and water pumps for K engines are cheap as chips.

mmm, removed the water pump today, doesnt seem to be any play in the bearings, the gasket looked pretty haggard though, so i'm guessing that was why it was leaking, so thats kinda a relief.

 

also if anyone has a drivers side mirror (mirror and arm) that they wanna sell let me know, need one asap.

theres a generic mirror you can get from motormate i think it is thats fits in the standerd ke20 holes if you want something temp while u look for one

nick i reckon i could possibly have a genuine ke20 mirror... but the super cheap ones looks just as good and are cheeeap :D
