okay i have found a 3 speed auto box out of a KE55. Now my question is are the output splines that same from the manual gearbox to the auto?? also are the gearboxes the same length??

i have a ke70 auto gearbox if you want it also - just have to seperate it from the 4k... with everything to suit.

pm me if you want it - you can have it free

i been in a auto hiace/townace auto they must be a 4 speed, (townace 5 or 7k?) doing 100kph its smooth engine isnt revving at 895830945093489453 rpm like a toyoglide/trimatic

i have got a couple more questions for you guys that i need to get my head around before going ahead with this conversion. What size transmission oil cooler would i need to keep the temp down?? what sort of temp do the auto boxes run at normally??

I want to get everything sorted out from the word go so i don't have any problems once i start doing it. Any info would be a great help.

Cheers

Does your Radiator have a cooler for the box in the bottom?? I thought all Rolla rads had that?

normal temp is around 80degrees and you don't need a oil cooler but there good if you plan to stallies all day

Hi, I have a auto gearbox complete from a 7K van, has torque converter , flywheel and pipes will bolt to any K motor, has done 24k. Motor is in my sprinter. Price $500 ex brisbane cheers Lou

Chad, Ken is bang on correct, Automatic corollas have a cooling loop through the bottom radiator tank, which should do you fine.

Otherwise, any old basic tranny cooler will be fine and probably much more cooling capacity than the stock radiator.

Thanks Guys, I don't have the corolla radiator as it is still running the stock sierra radiator. I think that i will still run a oil cooler just to keep the temp down as i will be using it off road in low range etc and it may get hot working down low.

Hi Rolou,

Do you still have the auto box? is it a 3 or a 4 speed

Cheers

1968-1983 corolla's with Auto gearboxes will fit, as long as they had a K engine in them.

The early models, 68-72 have the 2 speed toyoglide - probably not what you want.

The Later models, KE30, KE55, KE70 ran a 3 speed trimatic box which is probably what you want. Any toyota wrecker should have one, just make sure it's off a K engine and you'll be fine.

they ran toyoglides into early ke30's aswell.

Nothing wrong with my Toyoglides.... cept the 85km/h top speed :S

had my stocker ke25 (with toyoglide and sunvisor) up to 95mph on the speedo. took ages to get there and i had to draft an RA23 celica on a downhill section (of a racetrack :D ) to do it
