Ae86 Exhaust Onto Ae71

hey guys,

 

just wondering if any one could clarify if an aftermarket AE86 exhaust will fit a AE71 properly,

i don't want to spend a bucket load on a off the shelf exhaust system to then need some dodgy guy mangle it to fit,

 

i understand that it might be defferent near the cat but thats not a major problem, just the mounting points really,

 

i have been looking at buddy club, megan and hks exhausts if any one has had any experiance, i will be going hks headers aswell

It'd be best in my opinion to get the headers you prefer, then have a nice stainless exhaust made locally. I'm sure it would be very close. Most of those systems are under diff, so fitment may not be that hard, but I'd prefer to have the system over the diff, on a car that will be streeted.

on a side note... what is the prefferred Tube diameter for a 4AC exhaust system?

friend has an ae86 and his rear section of exhaust (over-diff) almost perfectly fit my ke70, but decided to get new pipe so cut it all

thanks guys, i will be going hks or cusco stainless extractors, its going to cost me the same amount to make a good decent system, if not more after welding has been done, just didnt want to buy a pre made exhaust and have to bastarize it to fit, ill just wait and see if any one has done it and suceeded

Rather than creating a new topic i thought i'd re-ask the question...

 

So, an AE86 system will indeed fit an AE71? Or will new mounting points need to be welded on?

 

I'm trying to source an exhaust for my 4A-GE AE71 build, and i thought it might be a cheaper option to buy one second-hand. But most of them are for Hachi's.

 

And would they fit, regardless of over-diff / under-diff?
