SLO-030 Posted November 19, 2010 Author Report Posted November 19, 2010 Drove it around for like half hour trying to find a place to weld it up as i was on the other side of Adelaide. Straight out the Extractors = my ears hurt... Will be getting a decent exhaust when funds permit. Quote
SLW42 Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 straight outta the extractors is cool for about 5 mins  , then when ya gotta continue driving for and 40 mins to get it re welded sucks the most, everybody stares at ya and your trying to drive it on as less revs as possible, cause it hurts ya ears :P Quote

Cheers Chris. I'm keeping the KE55 style trim. I prefer the TE grill and KE chrome combo over the factory combos. I'm hoping to get some overrated rear vents off of KE355. I'll let you know if it doesnt happen. Cheers anyways  Quote
SLO-030 Posted November 27, 2010 Author Report Posted November 27, 2010 So big day yesterday. Finally got the brand new leaf springs in. On Friday i arranged some hoist time at a mates dads workshop. Only to find the front eye bushes hadnt arrived at Pedders. So Saturday morning I ventured off to Pedders and raided their stock with a ruler. Ended up finding something that would work, out of a Ford Fairlane. Raced down to the workshop and got the wagon on the hoist. Firstly i made sure these Fairlane bushes would work. They did! by slicing 8-10mm off the length of one bush, they sit in the eye perfectly. The same treatment was given to the crush tube that was supplied with them. The tueb was a perfect fit over the Corolla front eye bolt. I'm gonna pull it all apart and weld the tube to the bolt when i get the chance. Got the springs all in. Lubed all the pins up and tightened everything down. Havent got any after pics but here's 2 to keep everyone at bay. These were taken mainly cus i felt special to have the old wagon among such nice cars :P Anyone else know what the yellow car is? :P Quote
JJT036 Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 Looking Good. That Yellow thing looks like a Triumph Stagg. :P Josh  Quote
KEhendo Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 yellow car is a detomaso pantera. italian style, detroit heart. Quote
SLO-030 Posted November 28, 2010 Author Report Posted November 28, 2010 KEhendo's got it! Direct quote from mates dads mechanic "its a Fvcking Ferrari, With a Fvcking Cleavland!!" WELL!! Today was quite an interesting day. After showing the wagon off to some family members i shot up into the hills for some spring testing. First thing i noticed was how little body roll there is now. Secondly, the anti tramp leaf really does its job. Rather than trampping a little under meduim throttle around corners, it just holds the diff really well. And when it does wheel spin there is no tramp to be had. Stopped in at LukeAE71's place for a bit of a chat and test ride. I'll leave the report for Luke to fill in :D Over all I'm REALLY happy with this spring setup, i would recommend it to anyone wanting to upgrade the old leaf springs. Show them coil boys how its done! Quote
SLO-030 Posted November 29, 2010 Author Report Posted November 29, 2010 Scoring a set of Solex's soon. Possibly the 18RG they're attached to aswell! Quote
LukeAE71 Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 Ryan, I'll let my old mate neighbour give the report.... he came and saw me shortly after you left. I straight away thought here we go again!! He just said "damn I didn't think Corollas could do THAT!!!" This car goes alright kids and whatever that cam is that is in there, I want one!! Lumpy as shit at idle and the power comes on strong and smooth. :y: Quote
Evan G Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 lit up the whole street? :fuzz: Quote
JJT036 Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 Mmmmmm... 18R-G with Solex's... :jamie: It is said that the 18R Motor was one of Toyota's Best Engines to Trick up. My Dad and Uncle shoved one in an Old Bedford Van, but soon after Blew up, and then Rammed a 307 Chev in it. :lolcry: Josh  Quote
