SLO-030 Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 Just go to your local parts place :P Quote
Crostek Posted October 5, 2009 Report Posted October 5, 2009 (edited) You will find it hard to find a relay to fit in that is 30A rated, you mite be lucky to find one from a Hilux 4WD. If you did try to pull 30A through the relay block there is also the chance you could burn it out! You would be better off putting in a slave relay that is fused connected to the battery? tioklou Posted October 6, 2009 Author Report Posted October 6, 2009 of course the relay will be slave... my Ke30 does not have a relay box as ke70...and it has a mechanical fan also...! but my engine is a 4k out of a ke70 and i need a relay which will work with the ke70 temperature detect switch but 30 amps to work with a bigger fan!!! tojo2 Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 My ke30 electric thermoswitch contolled cooling fan pulls 3.7 A (Looks same as a ke70 fan.) 30 A would be a realy strong fan. Suggest you measure the current of the fan youll be using. You need some fat wire for that kind of current If you want a relay that handels big amps look for glow relays out of diesels Quote
kiahn Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 (edited) 15A sounds massive man, my 16 inch fan only pulls 5A and that moves enough air to taxi a 737 maybe you should look at altronics, aussie based company that is really good with prices Edited October 7, 2009 by kiahn Quote
altezzaclub Posted October 9, 2009 Report Posted October 9, 2009 I didn't know KE70s had electric fans! My '83 doesn't! Does anyone know whats involved in converting mine from a silicon one to an electric one?? Is there a worthwhile power gain? Quote
tojo2 Posted October 10, 2009 Report Posted October 10, 2009 In europe they got electric fans. Theyre controled by a thermoswitch mounted in the top of the thermostat housing, and a relay. Doesnt cause any whiplash injurys preformancewise but there is a gain. Will give better milage as well. Mine hardly ever runs unless pushing it , but that would be due cooler climate Quote
altezzaclub Posted October 10, 2009 Report Posted October 10, 2009 Well well... Can you take a photo of the sensor for me please? One fan or two?? Off to the scrapyard again... ;) Quote
