Raven Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 Hey There People I'm new here. Just thought i'd tell you of my project i'm undertaking. I have sucessfully fitted a 4-AC backed with a T-50 gearbox, custom tailshaft, shortened shifter into my KE55 corolla that has a partially completed KE30 exterior. I like to call it my AE35 cos the running gear is out of an AE86 Aus-spec. I still have to mod the clutch pedal to suit the hydraulic system and source a few connectors off an AE82 for the temp sensor, oil light and i also have to relocate the coil as it sits on the wrong side of the engine bay. Only problem i do have at the moment is i can only get the car to start by jumping a wire on the starter motor and the fuel pump has shat itself. Anyone got a 4-AC fuel pump for cheap and are based in adelaide? Regards Mick Quote
Raven Posted June 14, 2005 Author Report Posted June 14, 2005 Cheers But now i feel stupid. It was just pointed out that it should be an AE55 or AE30 :blinks: Oh well. Not to worry. :(( Quote
Medicine_Man Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 Any particular reason you didn't go for a 4AGE? also would like to see some more pictures of your beast.. Quote
Super Jamie Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 4ac is cheap/free, and facilitates easy swap to 4age later on :(( nice work dude, hope to see it on the road soon Quote

Of course the 4A-C is cheaper, but I don't really see a point in wasting the effort on the 4A-C.. Quote
Raven Posted June 16, 2005 Author Report Posted June 16, 2005 My old KE30 came with the 4-AC, sports exhaust etc and i bought it for parts, so i just stripped it down for parts and decided t chuck it in this one. Don't worry, 4AGE is coming at a later date when i actually have a decent job and can afford it. :P Mick. Quote
Sam_Red_Rolla Posted June 16, 2005 Report Posted June 16, 2005 how about 4AGE without the EFI? carbie 4AG or 4AGC? don't know my carbies well but when i first got my AE82 Twin cam my boss tried to convince me to do it, reckoned the EFi restricted it. Quote
ancullen Posted June 16, 2005 Report Posted June 16, 2005 Yeah, I can't wait to build my first car with Webers. Hopefully something like a KE25 with a 2T-G (a TE27 would be too expensive I would think) and twin Webers. That or a Jaguar MkII or Holden Torana with triple Webers. One day. As to your car's nomenclature, maybe it should be AE56 as it's a KE55 with A-series motor but the lightweight panels of the KE30. Hence it's a version of it's own. Quote
demuire Posted June 16, 2005 Report Posted June 16, 2005 If I got a KE35 drivers door, I'd lighten my car and make it go faster :P Quote
Raven Posted June 16, 2005 Author Report Posted June 16, 2005 (edited) HAHAHA! Still gotta chuck the KE30 doors on. 55 has drive side damage on the driver door, and the top of the wheel arch on the r/h side is pushed in a bit and i got a dent in the back end which shouldnt be hard to knock out. Raven Posted June 16, 2005 Author Report Posted June 16, 2005 Also got my car starting with the key today. split fuel line running from the filter to the pump was causing air to be sucked in and i forgot to plug in a connector for the ignition. Quote
ROLLN'03 Posted June 17, 2005 Report Posted June 17, 2005 Try 10L - 50Km - Not even that some days Badly out of tune! Quote
Raven Posted July 7, 2005 Author Report Posted July 7, 2005 ****UPDATE**** Ok, well, i had clutch problems. The pushrod on the master cylinder wasnt getting enough travel, so i had to modify the hook part on the end to be longer. Just a word of warning, DO NOT testdrive a car with an unsecured battery cos the positive terminal wire likes to get chopped in the alternator and the radiator likes to melt holes in batteries. Other than that, i gave her a tune and fuel mixture adjustment and she drives pretty sweet. Just got that friggin dent in the back which makes it look ugly. I'll get some pics soon. Mick. Quote
