i think it would be useful if you had a REALLY powerful motor. i've got dyno videos of a 700kw silvia, you take one look at the engine bay and you just think "christ, that sr wants OUT!" :D

actually it could be useful in the quest to stop your engine destroying mounts like mine did. then again, for the amount of effort, you may as well just make mounts with new 2L ford rubbers and there's your problem solved
