Its amazing what you can see when you are given a new set of eyes :P

 

I would imagine this would of have been black technology at one stage, my guess is the technology is from early spy satilite era.

 

I would love to see the 3D verson.

Theres been alot of development around my area, so I could determine how old the photos are quite easily... they range between 6-12 mths of age...

google has been taking photos for the last 2-4 years. ive had this for ages!

thats where i got the birds eye of darlington park from, which is in the go-karting thread on the first page :P

I didn't mean the photos are from cold war era, i meant the tech is, makes u wonder what the gov is using now.

Well my old man wanted to put up a shed in the backyard of his place in Toowoomba and the council dragged up similar images to determine if he had room.

 

They even had a go at him for chopping down a tree that was in the old images but not in the new ones.

 

So if local council have good current data what does the rest of the world have ??

Might add, if you want to see what they currently call 3D look up New Orleans, they did that in 3d.

most of the pictures in the free version are like the first pass the satelite did. the free version gives you better bandwith to their server, as well as images that are no more than 3 months old. $400 a year aint that bad.
