Spent the unofficial Melbourne cup long weekend in gippsland. Drinking way too much, water skiing in a mate V8 boat and crossing rivers that no 'rolla could cross after the recent rain!

Also got my centre road wreckers roof racks on. 9 bucks each. Off a mitsubishi van.

As much as I love the 'rolla, this is the car to see Australia in!

So I got a week off before Xmas and went camping in the Victorian High Country. Spent seven nights without ever going to a town. No phones, computers, news or tv. Pure bliss. I took two books, the saturday paper and loads of food and grog.

Went to three spots and just chilled out.

Love it! Especially the last three photos! Real living!

You need a metal detector for gold nuggets!

Thanks for the comment. The last three were from an old gold mining town, "winchester". Closest spot on a map will be Talbotville, another old gold town.

Threw another photo in for you, shot from the river. Was by far the best spot.

A mate of mine collects those bikes. He has a collection going back to the 50's.

More than 10 in all. Including 'rally pack' kits and all. They are seriously cool.

He also has two AE86's two US Mustangs, a Valiant Chargerand a town and country Valiant Ute etc etc. Plus a factory to keep them all in including hoist and a mezzanine to store all his parts and stuff.

And a fridge.

Amen to that! Awesome journey by the sounds of things, definitely the right vehicle choice. :)

One of my most peaceful moments was doing a 3 day solo hike along the Lerderderg River. Nothing electronic, everything I had was in/on my backpack & no people.

Damn, this makes me want to go bush again
