Bamboo Posted February 23, 2010 Author Report Posted February 23, 2010 Slightly drunk blogging. The 7-11 is across the road from the apartment. They sell Happoshu (double hopped beer which doesn't attract beer tax) for 140 yen. About $1.60 a can. It tastes and looks like beer! Trains take you everywhere. They sell beer on the platform and you can drink on the train. Why on earth does this country make cars. There doesn't seem any need! but I love it! Quote
Bamboo Posted March 3, 2010 Author Report Posted March 3, 2010 in case anyone gives a shit. I'm now in Lille. 200 ks north of paris. just came from amsterdam. if your wondering why there were no threads from the dam....... well you don't know the dam!! Car wise its almost 100% european. no old Jap at all. Beer is dirt cheap. and for those who know pulp fiction, yes you can buy beer at mcdonalds! I checked. I'm gonna order one tomorrow to see what cup it comes in! bamboo Quote
JiP Posted March 4, 2010 Report Posted March 4, 2010 haha thats awesome. Oh and more about Amsterdam  Quote
Bamboo Posted March 5, 2010 Author Report Posted March 5, 2010 haha thats awesome. Oh and more about Amsterdam :( The dam? Yes you go into a coffee shop, where they can't serve alcohol, but they have a special menu. Green or black. There was about six diferent types of green and two diferent types of black. after that the memory fades. Oh and choclate space cakes!! mmm the bad stuff was 18 bucks for 5 grams and the cakes 9 bucks each. :P Quote

Bamboo Posted March 13, 2010 Author Report Posted March 13, 2010 Spotted Coming to you from the land of Guiness and the IRA AE86 'rolla down the main street of IRVINESTOWN. It was the buisiness. Fly speck of a town just north of the border between north ireland and the republic. We're driving around in a red micra (oh the shame). Spent the night at the local pub where happy hour went from 7 - 10. £2.50 ($5.00) pints. Currently in Derry where most of the IRA stuff went down. That shit was chilling! later Bamboo Quote
7shades Posted March 13, 2010 Report Posted March 13, 2010 Dude the Irish have found and bought ALL the 86's in the UK. All of them. They're nuts for the little buggers. They're slowly but surely depleting Japan's stocks as well. Trivia: They call burnouts 'Diffin' and they do them a lot. I'm thinking about making a business exporting VN commodores in grey primer, I think they'd be all over 'em. Quote
JiP Posted March 13, 2010 Report Posted March 13, 2010 They bought Curley's KE25 and deported it to Irland while ago. Plus the site manager on a job I worked at told me that his mothers old KE35 SR was bought for $8,000 (NZ) and deported to Irland too. Quote
Bamboo Posted March 22, 2010 Author Report Posted March 22, 2010 I'm back in the land of sushi for a few days. Suffering more jet lag! Not that you give a shit!!!! While in Ireland I noticed that the number plates actually represent the year of rego with the first 2 numbers. the next letters (s) represent the county of rego using the English initials. Small writing on the plate has the full name of the county in Irish (gailic). Spotted some old cortinas and escorts. They didn't have that style plate. Also spotted this 13 year old cab on the way to the airport. Will keep my eyes peeled for interesting metal in the next few days before my return to sunny Melbourne. Bamboo Quote
