Ok just to prove this project hasn't gone under ive got the front and rear windscreens in (although rear isn't in in the pic).

Have started work on the engine. New water-pump and thermostat housing fitted.

Now ive started work on the battery relocation to the rear. Ive got 4 meters of 2 B&S 32mm 255amp cable.

Thing is though not sure what I'm going to do with some of these wires hanging off the side of the cable.

Was thinking of some sort of terminal block or junction box to just save me the hassle and merge the existing cables together instead of removing old positive cable...

And also as the engine is from a KE70 the Bosch alternator has an internal regulator instead of an external one that the car had originally... so not sure what to do with that.

ok so wont start, not getting any power...

here is the deal...

have wired engine up like following:

standard liquid cell battery in boot

2 B&S 32mm 255amp cable for both positive and negative battery leads...

positive straight to starter motor and negative to earth

Wire from B+ on alternator to starter motor

wire from D on alternator to i think white/black on old alternator connector on loom

joined yellow/white and white/green on regulator loom...

these cars are so small to work on from underneath, especially when laying on the ground... need a hoist lol

will get pics in the morning, hopefully get it sorted with a fresh mind....

Ahhk, i know of a few people that have done it and reckon not to trust 40yr old steel as a good conductor.

Last time i did a battery in boot conversion, i just ran both cables into the engine bay.

But as long as it works for you :lolcry:
