demuire Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 Pinky brakes from 100km/h WAAAAY faster than it accelerates to it, and I suspect Hal will too :D Quote
irokin Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 hahaha just suspect. I think if a car can't slow down from 100kmph quicker than it can accelerate it should be anywhere near the road. ODDs new braking package wipes off speed pretty damn well. Althought not quite as well as I was anticipating. I suspect this is due to aged brake pads. and having no brake booster doesnt help. Quote
irokin Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 I guess the clause should have been more like this *** I dream of a car that stops from 100kph faster than it accelerates to it (addition to original text) And I dream of a car that will accelerate to 100kph in under 7 seconds :D but I can stop from 100kmph in 7 seconds now?! Xany Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 it was on sunday when irokin came over my joint that he saw wagon braking power under a sedan......BIG drums......i have a wagon diff under my car and i'm not spinning bull.....they are big drums.....biggest i've ever seen on a corolla..... Quote
demuire Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 Aren't the wagon drums the same as KE55 drums? I know they're heaps bigger than the KE35 ones, didn't think they were that big... Quote
irokin Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 theyre big...MUCH bigger than the KE30 drums I have under my rear. They do a nice job of filling the 13" rims Quote
Teddy Posted February 2, 2004 Author Report Posted February 2, 2004 yeah, i saw them as well - wow - i thought they were commodore drums for a wile then... Xany - get a pic of them !! Quote
demuire Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 They do a nice job of filling the 13" rims Seen the drums on Pinky lately? Quote

Xany Posted February 3, 2004 Report Posted February 3, 2004 this picture doesnt do them justice but it was raining at the time......i REALLY need to paint them...... Quote
demuire Posted February 3, 2004 Report Posted February 3, 2004 They look like KE55 drums (as in late model KE55 - the ones that came with Girlock calipers) Quote
Ruts Posted February 3, 2004 Report Posted February 3, 2004 is it my eyes or are te studs on those wheels the "full stud and nut" screw in job as opposed to fixed studs and wheel nuts ??? Quote
irokin Posted February 3, 2004 Report Posted February 3, 2004 nah they'll be wheel nuts My GFs beetle has full stud and nut...its a bitch to get the wheel lined up caws you can't hang it off the studs. Quote
Ruts Posted February 3, 2004 Report Posted February 3, 2004 yeah my old camira had the full bolt style job but the wheel sat nicely on the centre of the hub where there was a decent lip Quote
demuire Posted February 3, 2004 Report Posted February 3, 2004 Yes those are stud and nut, but those mags don't use the usual (well, nowadays usual) tapered nut, they use a nut with a shaft, so the holes in the mags are bigger than the studs and the nuts have washers. Quote
