quite large capacity. big an heavy.

i would be thinking Volkswagon Golf TDI and rwd convert the motor. quite a bit of hassle but could very well be worth it.

huge ecomonmy.. low running costs.. and a decent amount of power.. the conversion could possibly pay for itself in time.

wel you have to have your L's for 12months 75 hours P's can't drive v8 turbo or any thin over 3 litres i think it is but you can drive turbo diesels and you have P1 for 12months P2's for anotuher 12months limited amount of passingers and you can't be out driving later then 12am or some thing like that

volvo seem to be pretty good with there diesel's maybe that might be a good appounshion to?thta what i thought about good power eays on the wallet when it comes to the pump and so on

There were RWD Diesel CE70's and CE74's... Just not in this country. Japan, Europe, and there's a few in New Zealand.

I *think* a W series gearbox bolts up.

If I remember correctly Toyota kept using the C series diesel until the early 2000's so you might find one through an engine importer.

As you say, no it won't be worth it. If you're desperate to have a turbo and you're on your P plates, either get a track car, or if memory serves you can have a car that's under a liter and have a turbo. So get some tiny little engine 997cc engine and put a whopping great turbo on it.

Turbo diesel in a rolla probably wouldn't be particularly fun either, at least not compared to all the other amazingly great things you can put in them. Forced induction is great for quick power gains, but to get loads of horsepower out of a car there are many more ways to do it.

i've thought of doing this as i work at volkswagon. tsi engines are very good and wonder what regency would think coz litreage is 1.4L

depends why you want a conversion?

to me if you don't mind a diesel and you want reliability cheap running costs and economy and power but don't like new cars much then go for it.

also to be different.

see i love older cars but new cars bore me to an extreme. so i go for older cars and do em up to be nicer. also swap for a more economical powerful and reliable motor.

hence why my daily is getting a 4efe instead of the usual 4age.

A: the engine cost f all

B: its unusual to RWD convert (and not overly hard)

C: more power and economy without enough to do nothing but get me in trouble.

D: reliability.

Wasn't there also the Corona and Liteace that used the 1c diesel.

but yeah slap a turbo on the side and plug in a bit of LPG...

Or just hit it with some gas

One of the major downsides to running a diesel is the repair bill
