If it's the same as yours, EFI and ADM then it will be a Twincam (or at least the engine is). The only EFI AE8Xs sold in Aus were all 4AGE Twincams, it wasn't until the AE92s that a non-4AGE EFI Corolla came here.

Difficult but true unfortunately Andy.

 

What does a half reasonable AE82 twin cam go for? You should find one easily enough for about $1000. What is yours worth, probably a $1000.

 

You could modify what you have at a fair amount of expense and still not go as good as a twincam, or you could buy a donor car and transfer nearly the whole car across to your shell, if you feel confident enough. Very little of your original car would remain though, and you would probably be out of pocket at least $1000 to buy the car and put new filters, regas the aircon etc.

Indeed, I was actually looking at bringing a 4ae head and injection setup over from NZ before the 4ac let go in the mrs car.

yeah for now i think i might just stick to saving and get 4AGE later on down the track but i work on the body for now gotta get new paint work now because some c**k keyed my car down to metal but you guys have been a big help
