My background is mostly nissan/datsun orientated but finally i desided to get something better...So i convinced a mate to sell me his KE70 (which he paid $100 for). Once i got the car me and my brother got stuck into it modding it..

- Welded the Diff

- Modified the corona LCA's (lengthened 43mm)

- Modified the Steering Arms (lengthened 40mm)

- Modified the corona Knuckles :y:

- Modified a universal seat rail to fit my Bride Zeta

- Modified the airbox so it was an open filter

- Modified the vacuum lines so the bare minimal were used

- Put a set of Pacemaker extractors on

- Put a 2 1/4" exhaust on

- Modify a strut brace to fit the KE70 (was supposed to be for a cefiro but it wouldnt even fit one of those so it was cut up and made to fit the KE.)

- Fitted a stereo system

Other mods the car had

- Welded in rear strut brace

- Dildo 300mm gear knob

- OMP Dished wheel

- Corona front end (struts, brakes, lca's)

- Fender mirrors

I then enjoyed driving this car for 6 months, one wet afternoon while thrashing it no1 cylinder desided to let go :(

2 days later id purchased another KE70, this one was in alot better condition (except for it needing a new rear qtr)

So first thing i did was clean the crap out of it and remove the million leaves that were in all the cracks.

We then replaced the rear qtr and ive fixed all the wiring issues (stripped my old ke and swapped looms and all plugs across) I then stripped the extractors, exhaust, front lower control arms, knuckles, steering arms, suspension and swapped it over, we put in some Peugot rear struts and AU ford rear springs (fronts are corona struts, brakes, lca's). This time i wrapped the extractors in heat wrap to try and seperate alittle heat from the intake (as it sits on the extractors. Purchased some new fender mirrors and some Work 14x6.5 +20? wheels fitted some 165/65/14's to them and had my brother modify the guards to fit them.

So next the car is getting resprayed in White with Gold pin stripes, Rear wheels are soon to be purchased (Ford/ROH 12 Slotter Polished rims 14x8), an AJPS "Madhouse" chip spoiler has been paid for and is on order atm.

I made sure with this one the compression was a nice even 170 across all 4. Car is run on BP ultimate 98 with 15 degrees timing. This ones a keeper. the old shell may (or this one even) be getting a CA18DET engine swap in the future (ive got a spare engine).

Started working on my KE after 6 months of it sitting smashed at our workshop :(

now I'm keen to get it back up and running again

Ive installed the Weber 32/36 carby and were in the process of replacing the rear beaver panel on the car. Not much left to do before i have it back on the road as my daily (will be dropping the car off once its fixed to get the carby tuned)

Heres a pic of how it looks (next few months i'll be replacing the headlights/tail lights and bumpers (to chrome and quads).

So its been awhile.

Finally finished repairing the rear end of the KE so thats now back together.

Dropped the car off to Wilson Carbies so old man John could work his magic which he did. Weber carby is now working nice and smooth. Fixed a few issues i didnt know about (wiring, timing, vacuum lines etc) + i replaced the thermostat (as it was in 5 pieces when i opened it up.

Ordered a new set of the chrome bumpers and I'm buying a set of old second? hand ones but they come with brackets so i can use them when the new ones turn up. Decided on not going quads, makes it look like a wannabe Datsun 1600  (no offence spencer :P)

Took the car out for a test on sunday...

It passed :) heavy duty clutch is needed. Stock clutches don't like constant clutch kicks too much

Went to the JDMST meet friday night at the last minute.

Just waiting on my Chrome bumpers to arrive and its pretty much done...

- Modified the corona LCA's (lengthened 43mm)

Why lengthen the steering arms..? Less lock for more turns doesn't seem very appealing.. :hmm:
