Unless it was an emergency, why the hell would you? Spatter in your sump, porosity all through your welds, just dodgey in general, not hard to rip the sump off and do a proper clean job.
And who the hell calls spatter (not "splatter", that really annoys me) weld offs? Never heard a kent say "weld offs".
Honestly, if you just throw a weber on (jets tuned or not) it makes fck all difference. You wont feel it a great deal. Like altezza said, with more work done to the engine they become a valuable upgrade. Cam, exhaust, bit of head work etc
Hey Luke, the heads are fine to swap, as long as they are the same (big/small port) although the camshafts had different lift and duration, does the gze loom have any extra sensors over the 4age? I can't remember.
Club4ag.com has alot of useful specs on the 4a series.
Google search AE82 body kit.
And don't put fender mirrors on it, you will be a laughing stock.
Not much is easily interchangable, apart from twin cam 'ae82 parts, but you can make anything fit with modification.
Engine bay pic= porn!!
Looks friggin awesome mate, I reckon the offset with the wheels and the stance is pretty spot on, i prolly wouldnt bother with spacers.
can't wait to see her finished, good job mate.
Oh dear, where do i start?? Its a fkn long story (thanks for not including me), ill comment tomorrow when i have the time, and don't have the kids. Good to see a thread up Zowie, keep this one mate haha.
Yeah Trev, it was stuffing up trying to load RC pages.
Damn, i forgot the ol' 710 cap, sorry Zowie mate, it wont happen again haha.
Thanks for having a look anyway Luke, Its appreciated mate.
Thanks guys, you are all good men!!
Gday guys, just wanting confirmation of how the hoses are run. I have just replaced the leaking heater core in the new twinky and really hoping someone can post a pic, or help me out with this. Its been a long time between twinkies.
I made a crude diagram of the basic pre thermostat heater components (throttle body heater tap, heater core and thermostat housing).
Ill post another of how mine is plumbed, any help is greatly appreciated (cmo carbonboy and trev).
Cheers in advance guys, Luke.
Weld hubs and re-drill, done it before. Ill find a pic for ya.
But, then you need to sort out brakes etc, complete strut conversion prolly simpler.
A crude comparison, but you get the idea...
Pretty sure they are a 10mm nut, and a prick of a spot to get at. I remember someone on here posting a pic of a long 1/4'' drive socket they bought just for those kind of jobs.
If the rubber is all ok then it's fine to re-use, ive done it plenty of times. I just use a good RTV sealant sparingly, try not to have dags of it hanging off.
