We did this a few months back, myself and nerfbat. don't have time to explain atm, but there are a few old threads about the same conversion. Then again, people will tell you different things and combinations too. Datsun A12 rods and gutted hydro lifters running 4k rocker gear And using the landcruiser 3f solid lifters and stock 4k rods and rocker gear Also chev solids and different pushrod combinations. We ended up bendind an A12 rod, had lots of problems finding a combination etc. I can go into detail when i have time if you are keen for some of our experiences. What is your opinion on a "stock bottom end" man? Mine, it is a stock crank, and equivalent to stock cast bearings. Not talking about pistons or rods or modified oil pump or anything else. I am referring to the crank, bearings and thrust washers. What is the mis-understanding here? It is an equivalent stock bottom end. And this was the first weak point.

What are you getting at? All i said was the bottom end let go (stock crank and ACL cast bearings). That was the weak point, and it did well to hold up with the power it made for so long. Whats the BS? http://www.oke020.com/

A few months ago the 2jz bottom end let go in scotts OKE020, last i heard he was building another 2jz to go in it. Lasted a long time and big power on a stock bottom end.

Getting parts or replacement would be difficult, where as a Garrett or an IHI are easy to source parts or replacements for, they are not going out of business any time soon, and are proven performers. You said you had comparisons on paper between turbos? What was compared? If i had the money to throw around i would look at a disco potato, or a hybrid ball bearing made to your needs and application. can't wait to see more progress, i would love to build a lumpy bored out 7A :happy:

I would be asking for my deposit back on the turbo. Pretty rediculous amount of time to wait. What made you choose a BW in the begining btw? Just curious.
