has anybody had there car impounded or know of there mates having their cars impounded under these new laws our lovely qld government have brought in???

 

Because today i got caught driving on a s.p.e.r suspended licence, and had no idea till i got stopped as i pulled up infront of the cop shop near my house, to report my car broken into the previous night >| , and they impounded my car, not defected, impounded it for 48hrs :( , apparently they have brought in new laws allowing them to do this,

SPER just doesn't suspend your license. You must have missed payments ?

I'm in for the ride, bad luck bro, and yeah, you didnt lose your license and have to pay a fine which you refered to SPER's did you? sounds a bit odd...

my situation is this, i have been caught for driving on a sper suspended licence i didn't know it was sper suspended untill they caught me 2 days ago, i thought i was fine and i was under the assumption sper was taking money out of my account

 

I owe sper upwards of 1000bucks but i thought i was slowly paying it off, apparently not,

 

Anyways this thread wasn't really about sper, it was about these new laws they have brought in to be able to impound ya car, if ya make a woopsie

The biggest fine I have ever got is $200 and that was 20kms over limit.

Really? I got done for 41km over and only got a $420 fine.

I got done 30kms over and goot a $300 fine and 3 points

 

Nah sper is for any fines you get

for drink driving i got a $900 fine, didnt let it go to sper though,

 

while i was there, a man owed $25,000 to sper. mainly for jumping trains.... now he can't use any brisbane trains or jail :P

i got fined 300 for .082, 3 month suspension, and got a work license.

mate who got done at the same time got 3 month suspension, no work license, and a 400 fine, for .094
