Yeah, get a fat single, SU or Weber. You can get plenty of jets for Webers or you can sand your own needle for the SU.

What do you reckon the locked dizzy?? Surely that will be perfect for some small rev range but not very good everywhere else??

Love the bodywork! I wanted a flat-front but only slantys were in good condition when I was buying. The old style looks so much better.

Was really thinking of webers lately because just so much more gear floating around for them and with su's some carb experts wont even touch them. I've been reading the SpeedPro Series book on Su Carbs and theres some good info! If I do go Su carbs might go single 2" or dual 1.75" ...Leaning more duals just because it hasn't been done before ( I THINK! )

Dizzys is probably the part I least know about. I have been instructed to lock them ( CHEAP ) or Re-curve to suit the engine ( EXPENSIVE )

I've read a locked dizzy's will not like start ups and idle at all, but will perform best at higher Rpm.

This is a budget engine build with a set budget so just trying to keep things simple.

Never like the slant either even tho mine started life as one. I do have a little crush on some Slant wagon's

So which head has the bigger cc :hmm:

I'm thinking a Standard 4k as it has flat top pistons so it would need a bigger combustion chamber

And has anyone made the chambers bigger using a dremel in the search to lower my Compression Ratio!

The nice thing about SUs is that they only feed what the engine can handle. No matter what the butterfly does, the slide only opens enough to feed the engine at its maximum acceleration.

There's no 'open the throttle and get a fat flatspot' as the butterfly whips open and the motor can't suck fuel fast enough to handle that much air, like people who over-carb a motor often get..

It might be harder to find a 2" SU than a Weber 40DCOE or 28/36. The DCOE will no doubt cost the most, but they look the most cool! Looks a great project!

If you put a faggy dildo shifter in this awesome car I will fly to Perth and punch you in the testicles. Get a tasteful one for the love of god. Please.

It's your decision but imagine a nice leather bound one that's comfy and doesn't make your car interior look like a cheap strip club.

But its up to you :P

Edit. Or, I was looking at shifter knobs with push start buttons. Could be cool.

SOOO who can recommend a colour that goes with white for a pinstripe ? I was thinking silver.

2 Big 2" su's on there way to me.

And wanted to know if 304 stainless steel is alright to use in a intake?
