Rob 5000 Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 This poor soul stacked his GTR in about the 1st session. Looks like a few $$$ to fix it up. It was road registered too. Quote

Ben-89 Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 I wasnt aware carbon bonnets bend like that. I was under the impression they snapped. Could have been a carbon transfer put over. Quote
Trev Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 Not even a GTR, look at the rear guards. Quote
MattyZ Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 cut and polish and good to go... :hmm: I wasnt aware carbon bonnets bend like that. I was under the impression they snapped. Could have been a carbon transfer put over. it could be metal skeleton carbon skin maybe. Quote

ae824ate Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 Not even a GTR, look at the rear guards. Spot on! First thing i noticed. But why so much fascination over a crashed liner? Just curious. Quote
Trev Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 Spot on! First thing i noticed. But why so much fascination over a crashed liner? Just curious. Because when people hear GTR they think of money, luckily enough r33 shells can be picked up quite easily so if the structure of this isn't repairable then he could re shell it. Quote

I understand the GTR fascination, but...um...why are we looking at a wrecked skyline? Why was it posted? don't want to be rude, i just don't get it. We can all see these at wreckers, and streets where fkheads that can't drive decide to race. We saw one bloke 2 months ago in tbar wrap his R32 around a pole, wow, what a mess. Still don't get it........ Quote
Trev Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 Because he was an enthusiast just like any of us here and he now has no car or anything to cover it because he wanted a fun day at the track. Quote

Ok, i get that. Still, if he could afford to buy and mod a liner, why not just build or buy a track car? Hope he was insured!! Quote

Was on the track, all insurance was void, insurance (including race car insurance) only covers you when you are not on the track. Quote

ae824ate Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 Just cause you can afford to buy and mod one car doesn't mean you can afford two (or to crash them). Yes, i know. But you may be able to afford to buy a nice street/daily whatever, and buy a cheap shitter and spend fack all to get it handling and going sweet. If you can only afford to mod your daily street car, don't risk it on a track, all sorts of things happen! My mate had it happen at willowbank, his only car, huge ego, too much boost and a big bang. What I'm getting at, why would you invest so much in a streeter, then take it to a track where its almost certain to break, or for you to crash? I'm not sure how to type what i think atm, too many thoughts. Quote
son of stig Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 (edited) Probably add up to a writeoff, but wouldn't be that big of a job to fix.. Edited January 27, 2011 by son of stig Quote
