Hmmm....I think you mean the spring holidays Nick - the winter one are in June...

 

But yes August is a good time after school holidays and before the next lot... and if you have a mid week booking it would probably be a lot quieter as there wont be as many people coming in and going out as there would be at the beginning and end of the week... However there are a lot of good deals over the net for Hotels in Brissie - we did a lot of searching for a good one when we came down last and there are lots of 3, 3 1/2, 4 and 4 1/2 star places available for a good price and being honeymooners i think you would prbably get a slight discount...but don't hold me to that...

Whatever you do don't mention anything to do with a wedding - the prices usually increase

i'll be looking forward to meeting you in person, i may even have a vehicle you can use while you're here.

 

Maybe a bit noisey, twin round headlight, TRD uprited rally car, be OK???

Try www.wotif.com.au for hotel prices, however when you decide on a decent place to stay make sure you try and find the hotel's offical website and contact them for tarifs etc, you may get it cheaper going directly through the hotel.

 

Also, I sugguest a Inner city appartment so basically you can walk around and don't have to drive (saves you getting lost). Whats the purpose of your honeymoon? is it a recon trip ? sight seeing? business? etc? If its for sight seeing I would recommend:

Tangalooma (Morton Island, hand feed wild dolphines, beautiful nature)

Noosa Heads (Place to be for hip happening kind of people, also great NP)

Malaney (nice wineries, good bush walking, nice hills)

Glass House Mountains (You can see these volanic plugs from a far coming from Maleny)

Bina Burra (hand feed birds, awesome NP)

Gold Coast

 

If your more into getting pissed and going clubbing everynight, best to stay in brisbane cbd, and do little day trips.
