67Rolla-Ken Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 Those new indicators look like #E20 sprinter ones as they look larger then the KE10 ones. Might be too late as you just bought those but u could clean up the old ones by polishing up the aluminum trim and lense Fairly sure the new indicators are late KE10 (1969 on) and the originals are 1967-68. Jono.C Posted June 16, 2011 Author Report Posted June 16, 2011 This thread is slowly becoming car porn. I am about to make up a whitewall rack, which you can use if interested. Basically an old hub on a wooden stand, a horizontal guide, a few clamps for razors, and once masked - voila - a perfect circle for the application of rubber paint  Can't wait to see this thing evolve and make its way onto the streets. Seems as though progress is being made quickly considering what you started with bro. Fark yeah man! I'd love whitewalls, Cheers :D Yeah it's slowly taking shape, dad's cracking the shits with me stockpiling parts :P I've still got a fair bit of stuff to turn up which he won't be happy about haha. Yours is looking overrated with the round lights now, They're much sexier imo  And yeah, the indicators have 'Ke10' stamped on the lenses so i'd assume that's what they'd be cheers! Quote

I'll let my new tyres be the guinea pigs first man, haha. Be a few months away at this rate, but should look the goods when its done. And yeah, I couldn't stand the late model '55 squaries, KE30 front end is much cleaner. Now some serious lowerage and some oldschool roofracks are on the cards (just so I can take my huffy slider to the top of Mt Wellington of course  Keep us updated with how you go painting - I am considering doing the same soon! Jono.C Posted June 16, 2011 Author Report Posted June 16, 2011 Haha, It'd look overrated with the slider on the roof Here's a tip, if you decide to respray, optimum coatings is 1/3 of the price of spectrum. Acrylic paint mixed up there in metalics or anything to any colour for $49 a Litre ;) Quote
Jono.C Posted June 17, 2011 Author Report Posted June 17, 2011 (edited) Another present finally arrived today :) Nardi ;) Edited June 17, 2011 by Jono.C Quote
snotyellowke55 Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 Nardi = porn. Thanks a heap bro, I actually need a fair whack of paint as I am respraying some clean Soarer Guards to put on my JZZ30, and they're the stock metallic green, so thanks for the advice. Looks like it'll be cheap after all, and I'll get cheap access to a spray booth :laff: As mentioned, I'll be using the KE as a guinea pig first to test my spray skills (or lack thereof) before I potentially ruin a ride such as the Soarer. If you want a slider yourself, they can be had cheap on EBay right now, someone actually has stock  Quote
Jono.C Posted June 17, 2011 Author Report Posted June 17, 2011 Soarer's are overrated ;) If you want any advice one where to get stuff just Pm me :) Got my paint today! :D Quote
Jono.C Posted June 18, 2011 Author Report Posted June 18, 2011 So, I found out those indicators don't fit like they should, So, I had to get out the dremel and make room for them, had to remove about 1/8 Inch of steel, But they fit now. Not as good as factory lenses but they'll do until i can get some early model ones Quote
Jono.C Posted June 21, 2011 Author Report Posted June 21, 2011 I HATE tasmanian weather. I can't get anything decent done on it at the moment. Only thing i've got done in a week is chassis black'd the front of it :/ Quote
