I just recently bought a 1987 corolla seca with a 4age, I have a few probs and will need some help and parts ??? My first problem is that the bonnet hits the wiper arms! Is this normal ??? Second the drivers wiper arm hits the window pillar! Is this normal ??? Third I'm looking at checking the timing and that, what are the specs and does anyone have a copy of a manual for it??? Maybe email?? Forth are there many problems with this model corolla and the 80kw 4age??? Oh and where is the engine number??? Hiro Protagonist Posted October 5, 2011 Report Posted October 5, 2011 Yes the bonnet hitting the wiper arms is common, it's a manufacturing defect. It can be fixed by either spacing up the bonnet on washers (but then you don't get a clean shut-line), or you can fix it by fitting early Camry wiper arms (SV11, the original liftback Camry). And 86/88kw (not 80 :P) AE82s are reasonably common, they're getting harder to find in decent condition though. Quote
