Havent cut the springs just yet but was thinking of taking a 1 coil off this weekend when setting my camber and doing my gaurds.

 

Yea will be interesting , I've honestly say I've never pulled the handbrake up to start a slid and it seems its a must doing tight motorkhana so should be interesting. :laff:

It sits quite deep, the 3sge conversion is probably the most common conversion into these exluding the 20valve.

Whats the extra height of a 7age? I don't even know what it is!

 

EDIT : Anyone know where my engine/ chassic plate is? can't find it anywhere :bash:

16 or 23mm taller block.

7afe bottom end with 4age pistons and head. Basically an 1800cc 4age.

Is the pain in the ass worth the extra 200cc? whats the mounting like of the 7afe? If I even thought about putting it in might as well put that sc14 on it ...hmmmm

 

Has anyone got some tips for me from there track experience ?.

Might change my pads to bendix seeing as everyone is using them, re-bleed my brakes with race brake fluid,get some synthetic oil and new filter in her, change the transmission oil, fire extinguisher, helmets , first aid kit. What else??

What I did today,

Fixed my rust

Looked at the rust and thought about fixing it like in the first pic

Tried to roll my gaurds

Tried to change my oil filter but its nestled away quite snugg.

Everyones thoughts of fibreglass panels? safety wise? is the saved weight worth it?

Do side panels or bonnet play any roll in safety in a crash?

 

I don't know what the laws are like over your way, but here in Vic the powers that be don't like you doing it. It's the crash safety standards as well as the pedestrian crash safety they get narky about & unless you fork out mega-dollars to submit samples to them for testing AFTER having done your own testing to their requirements will they be deemed road-legal, provided they pass. Otherwise, no-go legally, at least with my enquiries. :(

 

I'm no expert, but as for the bonnet/panels playing a roll in crash safety, I'm going to go with yes. :)

I don't think they would play a roll in the collision of a car from the 80's , maybe todays car do but not back then.

The metal they use is so flimsy, I see no way of how it would change the momentom of the car that weights 1000kg in a collision.

Big weekend planned, rust is getting done with my guards. Rust for both spots got quoted $400-450 , Pretty good!

Also going to make my own short shifter , not like the throw between gears are long right now :laff:
