G'day all.

My name's Josh and i'm from Vic. Hopefully in the next week or two i'll be gettin my dirty mitts on a 1980 KE55 Coupe. Absolutely STOCK.

First mod i'm planning (if i succeed in obtaining the car) is to get a new zorst n schitt.

I was thinking extractors (of course) then 2" system with a nice dumper tailpipe.

Does anyone here think i should go bigger? (obviously i wont be going smaller) I don't wanna go to big for the blatent reason of losing back pressure. Any suggestions?

Thanks heaps,

Josh

1.75" is perfect IMO, 2" ain't any better... just louder I guess ;)

Redback/Genie/Pacemaker headers are fine extractors. I used to own a set of Genie Terminator Headers and a 2" exhaust, single muffler, and hotdog... I was heard from a LOOOONG way away.. and I gained a little more power (not too great obviously but hey, it's a K-series.. not a Gen 3 5.7 litre) :P

Hope this is a good little guide for ya :y: And welcome, Vic boy :hammer:

One time I had my gearbox cross member bolt snap, and drag my exhaust on the ground, and ruin it.

So I had no money at the time, so I got a standard exhaust welded to my extractors until I could affors a new system, and the day I took it in to get the new exhaust, I drove it in standard, and home with the new exhaust, and I could not believe the HUGE difference it made, it felt like it doubled the hp, it was crazy.

I have a "Redback" resonator on my KE30. I've had a few different mufflers in the past, but the Redback is the Deepest and most Rumbly.

My first exhaust had lukey? mufflers and it sounded crap. It was a cross between a celica and the crazy frog..........a ring ding ding.

My exhaust is 2" too.

oh good!

my ke30 has extractors with a pea shooter exhaust. the last owner had a 2" on it but thought it was too loud, so put a pea shooter back on. I'll probably go with 1.75", i don't want anything too loud myself. been there done that!
