hey guys and girls i want to know what typeand grades of engine oil and any upgrades you have done to you K series engine ?

the pic bellow is what i use.

In the FAQ/Wiki section there's a mention of what oils would be better suited for a K motor. I think it's in the "How to build a tough K motor" by Tazrx I believe???

Penrite. Can't remember viscosity. Haven't driven the car in ages, haven't needed to top it up. There's a bottle of it downstairs in the garage, can't be bothered to go check though.

Any 20W-50, the last one being Motoguard which I think is Repco's house brand

I've been using what ever crap dad puts in his tractor, reason: free.

I put the crap from Crazy Clarks in my 4k, 15 bucks for 4 litres. Does the job, depends what state your engine is in I suppose.

Used to use BP Corse Plus in my first Rolla. In the racer, it was what was lying around the shed, usually Castrol RX Super as the old man used it at work ;) and in his Patrol

I think that might be it, comes in a big blue drum.

I use toyota genuine oil in my 3T, because - its free :) Pretty sure its just caltex I think.

I used Castrol GTX 20W50 in my standard 4k's, and Penrite 15W40 in my mild 4K

Castrol GTX is good blend, originally recommended for k engines from new and its quite affordable. Sometimes autobarn have it on sale for $12.00 so I just grab 3 or 4 bottles at a time.
