Hows it going guys, i was just wondering if anyone has a ke70 locked or open diff lying around that i could take off thier hands? Iv just recently bought a 1983 Ke70 and I'm looking into spending abit of money on it.

Any ideas are welcome.

Take out your old one and get it welded otherwise I can weld it for a bit of money for my time :) Also in Brisbane.

I would deffently take you up on that offer, but this ke70 is really nice and original and i want a spare, clean open diff incase some shit comes up. :thumbsup:

Ya won't ʞ©$ɟ it! i run locky's in all my rolla's Ke26 Ke36 Ke70 and TE71 would never be anywhere without a locker! Just my 2 cents

I haven't done much research yet, but is there anyway I can lock it and then unlock it later?

Okay. Things you should know.

 

1: welded diffs are illegal. For a reason.

 

2: welded diff will void any and all insurance you have on the car.

 

3: welded diffs are crap day to day.

 

4: welded diffs Are very ordinary to drive in the wet. I've had one in my rally car. On numerous occasions it had me reaching deep into my bag of talent to prevent something bad from happening just driving to work. They can be and are dangerous.

 

Save your money and buy an LSD.

 

Off the top of your head, how much and what type's of LSD diff''s could i put into a ke70?

Can't put an LSD into a stock KE70 diff

 

You will need to convert to another diff with aftermarket support, bolt in options are Toyota T18 diff, JDM ae86 diff, you can also use an RA60 diff but they are wider than standard diff.

 

All of these options will need a tailshaft to suit.

R31 diff.. Will need mounts made though, and tailshaft

You can get a Kazz 2 way LSD centre which will be a direct bolt on for the ke70 diff, it will function just like a locker with the added benefit of being able to clutch in and drive normally around corners, however I doubt you'll consider when you see the price...
