March 5, 200620 yr comment_105611 hey just wondering if anybody that made these could show me a pic of them installed! but when the door is closed!! because I'm in the process of making some and i don't know where abouts to place them beacuse i think my right leg will touch it while I'm driving unless i make it so the speakers point straight instead of how tom made his!! will it make much of a difference sound wise? March 6, 200620 yr comment_105781 that is awsome work man that work is so cool . How long did it take you to make that?? Edited March 6, 200620 yr by supra2005man Report
March 6, 200620 yr comment_105803 Actually it will affect your sound, because midbass drivers can fall in cancellation if they fire directly at each other on a flat surface. Mid-high frequency-ranged speakers are directional sensitive. So positioning is crucial... IF you are fussy with sound. Otherwise, fit them however you please :y: hehehe Best way to do it is just make a bracket on your door (a dummy fit) and just position your speakers to where they would sound their best. Sometimes... it takes a few pods to go through the best souding for the acoustics of the vehicle. Trial and error = hours of fun and experience  Report
March 7, 200620 yr comment_105901 thanks tiger!! your right i moved the speakers around a dummy bracket! and it does sound alot different!! ill fiberglass em up 2morrow night and should have them in by friday!! can't wait!! Report

IF you are fussy with sound. exactly why i did them that way  they don't tend to hit my leg when the door is closed, but they sound good enought for me! i just held the speaker up with a laser pointer to get the right angle then glued the supports for the ring in at the same time. March 11, 200620 yr comment_106501 these are my door pods, i put them on an angle so that they point to the other side of the car cause i didn;t have enough room for them to curve around and point to the person on that side!! just finished sanding the bog (first time fiberglassing made a few holes lol) they are wicked ass smooth now!! undercoating this arvo and then top coats 2morrow then hopefully into the rolla soon after!! November 15, 200619 yr comment_151006 Hi all, I just joined the site and I've already had a go at making door pods for my Ke55. I started with 3mm MDF sheet. Plastic speaker spacers that were already cut on an angle. Cotton fabric, resin and glass... SO far that was the easy part. I used 'T' nuts and counter-sunk bolts to attach it to the door card, so the 'T' nuts needed to be placed in before upholstering. It has 3mm hi density foam covered in dark red vinyl. That took about a 4-5 hours to complete. But it doesn't look that bad. I had to remove some of the metal from the door so I could sneak the magnet in and under the window mechanism. Report
