August 16, 201214 yr comment_621421 Hey all I'm looking for some help! I have a 4agze in my ke70 with a k50 box behind it. The k50 is about to **** itself making all kinds of noises. So I am wanting to upgrade to a t50. I have a couple of questions about this conversion: What number of splines would my t50 need to have, to sit behind my 4agze without modifacation? (As i don't want to gaft/swap splines) What clutch would be best suited to use? (Ive heard celica but what series?) Hope you can help!! August 16, 201214 yr comment_621426 Go straight to a w box. You will break t50s if you drive it hard. a W box conversion costs about 2 t50 conversions, however 2 t50s will last you 3 months behind a hard driven 4agze. Report
August 16, 201214 yr comment_621441 Correct. Funnily enough, a 4agze is harsher on a gearbox than a turbo 4age..... due to the supercharger providing torque in a much more brutal and instant fashion. Turbos apply torque a little more progressively by contrast. Get a W55/57/58 box. Get 4ag to W5x bellhousing. Get custom tailshaft. Skids. Report
August 16, 201214 yr comment_621442 Listen to LittleRed. W55's have very similar ratios to T50's. I did count the splines on mine ages ago but can't remember, think it was 21 but they use a few different sizes of input shaft so you can measure it up and ask whoever you're getting your clutch from to sort you out there. August 16, 201214 yr Author comment_621466 Thanks for the replys! Pretty sure its a k50 box? I don't have the money for a w series box which is reason why I'm after the t series, as it will do the job for now. Still after answer for number of splines needed on t50 to suit 4agze? Report
August 16, 201214 yr comment_621490 Overseas spec ae71 with 1.5l 3au had k50-a engine setup. Usually still cable clutch I think, but not 100% on that detail. Report
