altezzaclub Posted October 17, 2012 Report Posted October 17, 2012 would insufficient grounding cause starting issues every single time I try to start it? I'd expect that, but adding an earth is dead easy anyway. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted October 18, 2012 Author Report Posted October 18, 2012 Ill buy a monster earth cable and see if that helps. Quote
ke70dave Posted October 18, 2012 Report Posted October 18, 2012 the ECU has a "start" signal. it does something to help it start easier. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted October 18, 2012 Author Report Posted October 18, 2012 That's why I was wondering if a hard wired push start is the problem, that the Ecu needs to know I'm starting the car. Quote
Ae82driver Posted July 4, 2020 Report Posted July 4, 2020 Hello everyone, first time posting on the forum. I came across this thread, I have an Ae82 that has suddenly developed the exact same intermittent starting problem. Ignition timing varies as if the ecu forgets where TDC is on starting. Takes a few attempts to start. Either way too advanced or retarded. And sometimes starts first time with timing correct. Tried swapping the ecu, coil and ignitor aswell as the distributor. Same issue. Has the member that started the thread ever found the problem? Quote
